when did she receive those PRRA forms?

She is from Mexico. She received the PRRA on oct 29, so she has to sumit it by nov 13. I call CIC today and an agent told me if she gets send back to Mexico the sponsoship will be cancel because she won't be able to attend to the interview. I asked what is the timeframe for that interview to be conducted and he just simply said "a few months from now".

About the PRRA, I have been reading about the percentage of aceptance, and is very low. It's something between 2 and 3%, so we are not holding our breath on it.

Can i sponsor her outland if she gets deported and our current sponsorship gets cancelled as a result of her deportation?

p.s. The agent also mentioned if she have had applied for compassionate and humanitarian grounds she would be able to come back if she gets approved. I'm so confused now.

I have been living with her for almost 4 years now. I can't imagine my life without her, and i have heard how dangerous is Mexico now days.

Thank you some much for your comments mimi.

Hi! Mexicatica and Mimi23!
Congratulations on your approval! I wonder... now that your girls are approved does that allow you to travel or how long would it take? or do you now have to also wait for the PR card before being able to travel outside of Canada?
Have fun with your life in Canada, lots of good wishes, lots of happiness and fullfilness. :) Hugs

hi, we are not aproved yet that is just first stage of aproval and work permit
as for me they are doing bacground check up they started somewhere around june/july, how are you holding up?

To nine3001

You stated your app. was received Mar 01 and started processing May 18, how did you get that info? I sent my app. Mar 22, received Mar 25. Never received any mail from CIC since then. I keep trying to check the E-CAS website but it keep telling me it does not recognize me. I tried calling the call centre, but they said they are processing application received up to Feb 9, so they can't tell me anything about my application. Did you use E-CAS? What did you use as identification info?

Thanks in advance.

I share that thought! Above all: if for such a long time there's this huge waiting line, why doesn't CIC Vegreville hire and train a few extra agents to slowly work away that waiting line. Or share half the stack with Missassauga...

Finally, our application is moving along!! I hope this means AIP and an OWP for my partner!

"We received your application for permanent residence on February 15, 2010.

We started processing your application on May 3, 2010.

A decision has been made and you will be contacted."

Our e-CAS status was updated this morning, and yesterday the CIC website changed the application processing date to applications received on Feb 15. Looks like the actual processing times are exactly in line with what CIC says on their website!

cdarroch is still here - with an update! This week's ECAS: "A decision has been made and you will be contacted"!!

Hopefully, it's a good decision :)

@Blackberry - we got the same letter. She's been volunteering for a seniors' center to fill up the time, and my assumption is that CIC just wanted to clarify that it wasn't a "job" (everyone there is a volunteer). Anyways, that's what we told them and we included contact info for the Volunteer Coordinator of the organization. I wouldn't worry too much :) Have you been volunteering? Maybe they just want some clarification. Good luck!!

Oh - and I wanted to mention:

Letter requesting info sent July 29. About August 15th we were able to get everything sent away, and CIC claims that it was received November 1st. fearing delays in the application, I called the 800 number, and the agent told me that no, that "recieved" date was the date they finished processing the new information and that we're right on schedule. 9 months later and our decision letter is in the mail :D

Anyways - I guess don't sweat it if your information is "received" later than you expect!
