Congratulations Asta! Step one done! :)

On a positive note; For those of you have have AIP, you can take French/English classes for free now, just need to take in your letter of approval and confirmation of your address. They are LINC (Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada) classes. Also another option is to learn as a second language and only pay $30 per level of which there are 9 levels I think.....

Doesn't say your medical has been received???? Have you already done your medical? Because i have the same status minus the line where it says "requested information on ". They asked me for medical, and i had to investigate on my own from Ottawa and found out that they associated my medical results with otehr application or whatever.

mine ddnt say either but nothing was asked but in those red and blue line it says my medical was received they will only contact if i need to take the new test
in august in my medical status i saw in my foss notes something like they were doing FBI,DEPORTATION,CRIMES are these background checks?

Yes mimi you are right but they asked me for medical because it was not associated with my file in Ottawa Computer system. SO i had to inquire about it and then call center agent verified for me that it is now received and advised me to send old receipts with letter explaining every thing to them.

How long did it take for your FOSS notes to arrive, and how did you order 'em?

so adzees since they have not asked me for anything um gud right?
foss notes i send the fax to winnipeg i took about one week and half to arrive since ur in edmonton u can order them at the local cic office will take like ten days or less

what call center agent told me is that an Immigration Officer first check with Ottawa if they can extend the validity date of medicals. If Ottawa says No only then Immigration Officer asks for a re-medical.

In my case since IO have no access to my medical this is why they requested it. The agent advised me to sent the old receipts and if they will need another medical they will ask you. But the initial request from IO was because they didn't have any record of my medical in the computer system.

Asta If I may ask you, Where are you from? Did you send the police clearance before and it expired? or You hadn't sent it before and that's why they are asking for it now?
Thank you. :)
