Huge Congrats to you LY - I can only imagine the relief and weight that is now lifted off you and your hubby's shoulders - Enjoy the rest of the long weekend and I hope the interview is soon and no delays with Canada post!!!
Thank you, thank you ardmac! Yes, it is a big relief. I can't believe it will soon all be over. I am so happy though.
I find it funny though that no one is in here at the time I get approved for the final stage. I hope more people check in today. Lol.

Im actually watching the hockey but I had a feeling to check this forum -don't know why but I am soooo glad I did!!!!'
I hope you get to land before Canada Day - That will be so exciting - not only a anniversary gift of permanent residency but a nice karma of only great things ahead

Now that your wait is over my nerves have just increased ten fold - I think the next 2 - 4 weeks are going to be the most excruciating I have ever had in my life!!!

Aww I am so glad you checked too. Maybe I am just too excited or anxious but your my only congratulations so far...hmm...maybe everyone is just out for the long weekend? I secretly wish it was on our wedding anniversary on the 28th but that might now happen. But yes Canada Day would be a cool day to land too. Well just try to keep your mind busy for the next 2-4 weeks. It will be hard but it will make it a bit easier. Just know that after you are approved, every bit of stress and worry will go out the window and you won't have to feel it ever again. :) Can't wait for you to get approved as well.

OMG GUYS.....DECISION MADE!!!! WOOHOO!!!

e-Cas just updated this morning! Funny thing is, I wasn't going to check my email today but I saw I had 2 messages I was thinking "Please let it be decision made." But then I thought that would be too good to be true. Sure enough though I had an e-Cas tracker update. I did think it could be a glitch but was hopeful so I went to check e-Cas and sure enough "DECISION MADE". Woohoo! I am so excited like you wouldn't believe. Been dancing all around since then. I think my suspensions were true. That they wanted to approve both stages but they just were afraid it wouldn't be done in time. Funny thing is, a decision was made two days after they approved for AIP and work permit. I wouldn't be amazed now if I don't get scheduled for an interview in the next couple of weeks or days. Our local office is not busy at all. OMG, I can't believe this is going to be over soon. Yay! Thank you everyone again for all the support and congrats! You will never know how much all of it has meant to both me and hubby. I am looking forward to everyone getting their good news soon! Also, I called my mom about the news (obviously) and she said as a joke they must have just wanted to make sure the world didn't end before giving me the news. Haha, I thought that was hilarious.

Anyway here what my e-Cas says:

"We received your application for permanent residence on July 16, 2010.

We started processing your application on September 22, 2010.

We received the requested information on January 13, 2011. Thank you for providing the information.

A decision has been made and you will be contacted.

Medical results have been received.

We sent you a letter on May 20, 2011 to ###########, ########, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, ### ### about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us. If we have sent the letter to the wrong address, please contact us.

By the way guys what do you think I should do?
Should I go ahead and get a temporary SIN/healthcare card with the work permit or should I wait to get PR to get my permanent SIN/healthcare card? I am unsure as to what to do. I know I do need to go to the doctor (been putting it off for approval to come) but it might be a waste if the interview date is soon. But sometimes you are waiting a month for PR landing date. Hmm...I don't know what to do.

Is there a way to find out how long it takes your local office to set up a landing date?

Big congrats L_Y!!! Finally it is over!!! You soooo deserve it! I think you should apply for the health card ASAP. You will have that 3 mth waiting period which I think starts from the date of AIP but you want to apply as soon as you can anyways. It doesn't hurt to apply for the SIN as soon as you get the work permit since you can work right then. I know your local office may be quick but since you already have the WP on the way... if you want to start working ASAP, then apply for the SIN. Congrats again!!

Thanks so much girl! I am so so glad it will finally be over! You deserved getting approved for both so quick too! Yeah I was thinking I would just go ahead and apply for them right away anyway. But good news is, we don't have a 3 month wait here for healthcare. I heard I might be able to get it that very day if not just in a few days. Which is good. What did the letter say that they sent to you about "Decision Made"? And how soon was it that you got scheduled for landing after getting it? Is there anyway to find out how long it takes my local office to schedule landing dates?

No waiting period? That is great!!!! The letter said they are "pleased to inform me that my application is complete and the Scarborough office will contact me..." I did ask the call centre the waiting time for that office and they said 3 mths. As we all know, we have to take what they say with a grain of salt. Thank God, I got my interview in about 4 weeks. You can call them though. Like you said, your office is not a busy one so you may hear from them soon. I am sooooo happy for you girl. I remember when we ore on the other board we were both planning on applying outland but at the VERY last minute, I decided on inland and then I saw that you did too. I remember people giving the usual speech about the downsides to inland but I just went ahead and have no regrets. More celebration for you on this long weekend for you!!! 8)
