Aww oh my goodness both of these messages (a long with all the others I get) really put a smile on my face this morning. I was feeling a bit distraught but coming here and reading this made everything so much better. Thank you so so much. :-*

Just an update. I finally had my landing interview yesterday. All was very quick and easy, and they told me I would be receiving my PR card in 6-8 weeks. All in all, the whole process took 18 months. So glad everything is over!!

CONGRATULATIONS! That is wonderful news. May you enjoy this new beginning in Canada. ;D

A request to everyone who has got their AIP or have already landed to please update your status on Trackitt so that they have accurate stats..

I have a question: Are the CIC agents actually able to see an update before us or am I just wasting my time calling? Because if they only see the same thing I do then I might as well just keep waiting.

They see things before we do. I would call. Ecas takes 2days to update after the decision is made.

I guess I just try calling again today. I am just nervous too now though. I really don't want to hear an agent telling me to wait again, that frustrates me more, you know? I mean I guess they are trying to keep me patient but today marks 10 months ago since mailing it off and well I think right I deserve to be impatient. Lol. I mean they say they are working up to July 13th but we all know they work past that. I am only 3 days past that. Does it really take this long?

Today we got the passport back from CBSA! 8) Thank God!!! Spouse has held it in his hand for the first time in 8 years!

We are sending it for renewal to our consulate. Hopefully we would get the new one soon so that spouse can land!!!

Just got off the phone with CIC. Was on hold for a long time while she was checking it.
She then said it is still in process, however, she said what she is going to do is put a note on our file for them to respond to them with a decision within 30 days. She said now that doesn't mean it will take 30 days for a response but she said that if it goes over the 30 days to DEFINITELY (she emphasized it) to give them a call back. She said she was doing this because it has been a while since they have updated our file and I said "yes it has". Now hopefully the IO won't get frustrated about them asking about it but I guess the CIC agents realize what I am realizing and that our file hasn't been touched since January. Time is ticking after all and they do have a deadline to go by. Hopefully this just helps us get an approval sooner. What do you guys think?

P.S. komar that is just WONDERFUL. Congratulations. I bet you both are so very happy. I wish there was a "like" button for here sometimes. Lol.

You should most definitely contact your MP's office. They usually get a response within a couple of days or so. Good luck!

P.S Canada Post is supposed to be going on strike in the last week of May. Pople thinking of sending application or documents should consider using UPS/ Fedex/Purolator so there is no delay in delivery. Those awaiting a letter could be in for an extended wait as CIC use Canada Post only.

You're welcome komar! Well I think I will wait to do something like that. I don't want too many buttons being pushed and plus I am still somewhat in the normal processing time (3 days away from the 10 month mark of being received). I think they will give us an answer soon. I just hope they don't get too cranky about wanting a response soon and hopefully a good one. Let's hope this leads to a positive decision soon. Who knows maybe we will get an answer tonight. Or the latest Monday.

Thanks dear. That is what I am hoping will happen. It is just a matter of a bit more waiting. Everyday is a new day for a decision.
Yes when you get AIP the letter will come later on in the mail. Anywhere from 4-10 days later. And you won't apply for a work permit at the local office. You will submit it either online or in the mail after you get your AIP letter. After you get a work permit, you will go down to Service Canada and show them the work permit and other documents, you will then get a temporary SIN. You can get the SIN that day but the actual card will be mailed to you. And if you applied for the work permit with the PR application, it will arrive with the AIP letter or from what I understand.

That is correct. I, for one, got EVERY ecas updates on a Saturday.

I heard it at work and then googled Canada Post strike to confirm.
