Congracs Hatrang! I am so happy for you!
But before I join your party... I have to tell you guys that I have to re-do my medical through a long waited phone call. I didn't get any letter for my AIP yet, the letter is suppose to ask me to re-do my medical.
:(
Please cheer me up~

Hi,
i'm a bit confused what do you mean "you have to redo the medical through a long phone call"?
may I ask when you did your medicals? did you do the medical originally at the same time as when you applied your application? or much earlier?
I did mine 2-3 weeks before I applied and it has already been a year since I did them. but they didn't request it on my AIP letter!
hopefully things will go smooth for you. i'm wondering about your medical timing because I really hope they don't ask me to do it again. my case has been already delayed because they requested a travel document/passport photocopy.

good luck, be hopeful and cheer up :)

A long phone call means that it took me a few hours to reach them today. I did my medical almost a month earlier than my application received date (you can see my dates under my name). They neither send me an AIP letter nor to tell me about it on the phone when I called them 2 months ago to ask for my unreceived AIP letter. I am not impressed by their responses at all!

But did you get an AIP? If so when? I did my medicals April 2011 and I submitted my application August 29th. I got AIP July 19 2012 and they didn't ask me to re do my medicals.

I see, weird that they haven't asked me and some other people as far as I know so far to re do the medicals.
I guess every case is a bit different depending on the situation and the person processing them.
I really hope those of us who applied on jun, july, aug, sep, 2011 don't dragged into 2013. but there is nothing we can do I suppose but to be hopeful. I got requests for address, work history, police clearance and passport/travel photocopy. thats why mine is dragging so long too.
on the side note did you maybe change your address? because I know some people here changed their address but for some reason they still got letters to their old address from cic.

Yeah it happened to me, we moved March 1st 2012.
I did my address change on CIC ECAS but we still received mail at the former address after that, even if it was showing the new address on the website.
However, like I always do when I move, I paid for 1 year the Canada Post Service for mail forwarding and it is valid until feb 28th 2013.
It is 75$ +tx for 1 year but it is buying peace of mind...
I strongly advice people moving of doing so.

Hi All,

Can anyone tell me what are the things can I get it with STAGE 1 approval...

1.) I am from Ontario applicant. Can I get health card?
2.) I didn't apply for OWP. I am going to apply by today or tomorrow. How long can I stay with OWP?
3.) Am I eligible to get credit card?
4.) What other benefits can I get?

Regards,
Preeya

Hi Preeya,

yes you can get ohip (health card) just make sure when you go to service ontario take your AIP letter of approval with you, it will take 3 months to receive it. and yes you can get a credit card since you would be able to work with your work permit as far as I know. you would be also eligible to apply for student permit.

when did you apply your application?

from what I understand you can stay until a decision is made and for whatever reason if it takes a longer time you can renew your OWP.

HI,

Thank you for your quick respond. My application was received by CIC on November 03, 2011 and the decision on Stage 1 was made on August 31, 2012 :-). Even my stage 2 also almost at the end for final decision. On the second letter they have mentioned that "I am entitled to apply for PR but they need my Singapore police clearance to make the final decision"

Singapore will not issue policeclearance if we don't include any documentary proof from immigration office :-(

Preeya

According to cic website only those who live in Singapore are the ones who need a letter from the the immigration office. If you live outside Singapore you only need the following documents:

>>a full set of fingerprints taken by a qualified fingerprint official; fingerprints can be taken at the COC office at the time of application for the COC,
>>a photocopy of your current passport,
>>two recent passport-size photographs, and
>>a bank draft in Singapore dollars for the applicable fees payable to ‘Head Criminal Records CID.’ [Please refer to Singapore Police Force (SPF) website for the processing fee.

XXPAZAWAY :

Hey ,

Just a quick question

They never asked you for police clearance in canada? Is it been really long you are in ON. You mentioned you got ur first stage approval letter via mail. What are the details
mentioned on to that . have they written that now ur 2nd stage approval will take 8 months ??
did u do ur medical when u sent ur application last Nov 2011 itself??

Hoping to hear about it

Cheers,

Ann
