hey, if they are all the options, I guess "Temporary resident holder" is the best match. However, you can check out if there is any "other" or any space for more explanation, you can put this "applied for Permanent Residence and was determined eligible for Permanent Resident status;"

Just my 2 cents since I've never done it before, please be aware!

A thing that I don't understand is my case is pretty straight forward too. No dependents and all. But anyway, it''s just me venting. Sorry!

I filled my application on Aug 4 2011(almost a month before you) and my AIP was June 21ST.
I am a straight forward case with no dependants and still I got nothing yet.
I do believe that every case is being dealt differently so I really don't get frustrated because there is nothing I can do

Hi All,

Has anyone received their 1st sponsorship approval letter if applied during November mid 2011, & if so did anyone receive an Open work -permit
approval ? along with the 1st AIP approval letter!

I was also wondering has one to do a repeat medical , like I sent mine along in Nov mid 2011

I read a couple of forums where it was mentioned that they asked few of them to repeat the medicals even if it was sent with their application
since it expires after 1 year is that true??

I know this site is too busy to ready everyone's comments on each, but it would be a great help to me in case if someone can please reply me
if they have applied at the exact timeline as I applied & would like to know their final status/ current status.

The visa officer has the option to request that the medicals be re-done, or that they be extended by up to a year. See: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2012/ob423.asp

Note that it is the visa officer that has the right to extend your medicals. You do not have the right to do so, or even request that they do so.

So I'm sure it isn't the answer you want, but they may ask you to repeat them, or they may extend them and not ask you - it's just the officer's discretion.

Thanks a lot for sharing the epic moments with me you guys. I'm very happy but I would also wish the rest of waiting people will get approvals soon.

Until today morning, I got 1 mail from the gov't for my OWP. There is no letter regarding to AIP or DM yet. I think they will come within this week.

Wish you guys all the best. I'm still here to update whenever I heard anything from the gov't. Sometimes, the only thing we can learn during waiting is perseverance! Our labour will pay off.

I did my medical on sEptember 2011 and send the proof with my original application, i didnt do my police clearance in canada but they didnt ask to redo my medical. I only got 1st stage approval and they sent it by mail. I hope very soon we will get 2nd stage.
I heard they are working with November applicants so for sure they are working with your file too. If not today they will updated e-cas tomorrow due to labor day holiday. Just hang on and be patience!.... Good luck! I hope you will hear from them anytime soon

Since I didn't include proof of medical (didn't do medical exam actually) in my application package, cic requested me to have my medicals done. I did my medical exam and sent the proof the same day I got the email regarding my AIP. We may have different case, atleast we're almost on the same timeline. Your AIP is coming soon!

Congratulations!! So it means they are working on Nov 2011 applications now. the website shows they r currently working on
oct7th 2011 applications . I'm happy that they are onto it ...
