Congrats we waited almost 3 years , what a drag. Landed March 12,2014 and now 90 days no PR card.
I hope you have better luck. Did anybody else land in March? Did you get your PR card?

The first time it expired they extended it but it took them another 6 months to get back to me and then...it expired again and I redid them as you are going to now.
The good news?I went to an e-medical office for the re-test and the results were approved and reviewed and in the system in just few days (the doctor and CIC agent approved that fact).
The second I knew that they have it I sent the local office a fax every day and left voice mails until finally they couldn't listen to me anymore and booked my landing.

I couldn't imagine waiting a minute more than needed especially when the security clearance was going to expire as well in the next few months.

Just do the tests and don't let go!

Thank you!

Tomorrow is the day! :)

Inland sponsorship. Applied November 2011. Received Aip Sep 2012. File transferred to local Montreal office in Oct 2012 for further verification., according to notes file transferred due to identity issues. Since then no word from Montreal. 22 months into stage 2 and 20 months since Montreal has had my file. Upon my investigation CSIS completed my backgroud checks in July 2012. Another backgroud check was recently completed on Feb 28 2014. Anyone heard of a similar case?. Will there be more background checks, maybe a letter asking for my soul is next. Soooooooo frustrated!!!!

Odd. Usually if there are identity issues they ask for an RCMP check (fingerprints). Someone is clearly looking at your file because they refreshed your background check (which is really easy if you've been in Canada the entire time).

Local offices can kick files around for a long time. I once ran across a case of a guy that had been waiting six years for his inland application as it had been transferred from office to office due to restructuring and closing. I told him to contact his MP - once he did that it started moving rather quickly.

So that's my advice: contact the MP for your riding. See if they can find out what's taking so long.

I did contact my local office around a year ago. They told me that cic montreal has no timeline for transferred files and that background checks are in progress. So basically it will take as long as they want .I am considering getting a lawyer but you think its worth it, I mean will he/she be able to do something.I hear mandamus takes around 18 months anyway, is that true? and am I in position to file a mandamus petition?.What other options do I have?

I'm not sure where you heard Mandamus takes that long. From what I can tell, typically filing a Federal Court suit causes CIC to push to clear matters up. A letter saying there is "no timeline for transferred files" doesn't sound like the kind of procedural fairness required by Canadian jurisprudence, either. But you should definitely speak with an attorney, particularly given that you've waited this long (it's far longer than the published timeline which is what the Federal Courts usually key off.)

Do your case notes show why the file was transferred to Montreal?

According to the notes, file was transferred due to identity issues. I did have a criminal charge but was given a conditional discharge. The notes also mentioned the discharge and that I am "not inadmissible".But the next note says transferring to montreal due to identity issues.Weird!

My E-medication report done n I m sure on cic system already !

So how long u wait till u got landing interview ?

I tried to contact my lawyer to ask them call cic..... But they keep saying not that quick n tell me to be patient wait n see ! If i keep bother CIC ,no good for my case ! Sometimes I feel i paid to lawyer same as throw the money in the river . They soo lazy n don't care my case . :'(
