Yup, just the label. If you want to write anything on the label thats your choice.. but BLS asks you to write on the envelope only when applying for tatkal passport renewal.

Yes it's mandatory to use Purolator envelope as per my understanding. You need to affix the label from BLS website which contains your purolator PIN either in front or at the back of your envelope. You don't need to put anything else apart from that. Once purolator guy stops by your place, he will scan the PIN and you can keep track of your envelope through purolator website.
@mymonika4 I doubt whether BLS accepts Tatkaal application through postal service. I lie in Ottawa Jurisdiction so we can't do Tatkaal anyways (walkin/postal) but not entirely sure about Toronto/Brampton.
As @mymonika4 mentioned, Purolator will bring their own enevlope and it's mandatory to use Purolator envelope as per my understanding. You don't need to write anything except affixing label on the envelope which is printed from BLS website after you schedule pickup though purolator.
They do accept tatkal applications but only for brampton and toronto. I also live in ottawa and ottawa bls does not accept tatkal passport renewal requests.
No worries...!! I learnt that the hard way. I sent my application to the brampton bls for tatkal renewal and they sent it backquoting wrong jurisdiction. I called the HCI Ottawa and they told me that If I am living in Ottawa, I simply do not have the option of applying for passport renewal under tatkal category. So i had to do it under normal category.
Same thing has happened to me for PCC application. I sent my application to BLS Toronto but they returned it saying since I lie in Ottawa Jurisdiction, I am supposed to send it to BLS Ottawa. To be honest, BLS is so confusing and has misleading information on their website and checklist which is pain in the neck lol.
Dont even get me started on that....! They have little patches of different information on their website, completely inconsistent and the checklist is messed up like hell. They cant even properly format it, different fonts, different sizes..
Wait for 2 weeks at least. I submitted on 26th April and waited till 10th May and called them the same day. They told we have backlog and it takes around 2 weeks for an update on BLS site " Check application status" and next day on 11th May my application was updated with status " Under process "

I totally agree with it plus its not accurate. They mentioned in their checklist to submit original documents which surely confuses most of the applicants. Indeed they only expect an applicant to submit original passport as a part of the process. Very badly structured of course and misleading information. Customer service isn't great too it takes days and days to get hold of them. Anyways we gotta deal with them somehow unfortunately

I did go to the BLS link and still when i punch in my details nothing is showing. https://www.blsindia-canada.com/trackapp.php does not show anything about my application.Do i have to wait a few days that they might take to update the website after receiving my application?
Usually it doesn't happen but possibly due to the pandemic, they haven't gone through your documents yet. The best you can do is to call them probably couple of times until you get hold of them. I would give it few more days before reaching out to them. Just make sure to keep an eye on tracking status on the embassy website. You can keep posted in the group too

Thank you much for your help.I was not able to get a hold of them on the phone but i submitted a ticket through their website.
They replied to me saying:
"Dear Applicant,
Please note we have received your application ,Status will update in 6-7 days
You may track your application from https://blsindia-canada.com/trackapp.php using your passport number."
I don't know if they mean that they have received my documents.
