Thanks for the response. BLS checklist says notary attested documents. Do you you think it could be a problem?
BLS checklist is not fully updated and not quite accurate in terms of self attesation rule. You just need to sign with black pen on all photocopies that you will send to BLS and that should be good enough. There is no need of notary attested documents.
Guys, I just wanted to follow up with my timeline for passport renewal. My status hasn't got updated since 5th May so its been a week now. For some reasons, I thought earlier that their process seemed quite faster than what I expected but no update since last week.
I was wondering if someone had the same situation and if so, any comments/feedback would be appreciated. Thanks a lot!!
Given the pandemic, things might have slowed down. My application took a month from start to finish including police verification. You still have a couple of weeks I suppose. Call BLS support if you really want to. They are difficult to reach but they do help.
Thanks @francaispourquebec for responding. I appreciate that. Is there any specific time of the day should I give a call to BLS? I have heard that it isn't easy to get hold of them.
Not really, just trial and error. It took me three days to get a hold of them but once I did, all my questions were answered in 5 mins.

I live in Brampton and i sent my passport renewal application 6th May 2021 via postal application and it reached BLS next morning on 7th.
When i go under "Check Application Status" on BLS website ,its not showing anything for my application that i have sent when i enter my passport number.
Am i missing something or it will take time to show my application in their tracking system?
Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Hello, you need to enter your ARN along with passport number which should be starting from 21-********** which you can find in your application form on Emabassy website. You can alternatively track your application through Embassy website via embassy.passportindia.gov.in. Let me know if you have any questions.

Does that mean they have my application along with my passport? Also i am still not sure how to track on BLS website .I am using "Check Application status" and it only asks for my passport number .I am not getting anything on that BLS page |
"Passport application form has been submitted" meaning that you have submitted your form but embassy hasn't received your application yet. I believe it would be helpful to check on BLS website in that case. You can also check your Purolator PIN to make sure whether Purolator has delivered your envelope correctly which I don't think should be a problem (only for postal application btw)
If you go on the website: https://www.blsindia-canada.com/trackapp.php , you will be able to track your BLS passport renewal application. Select your submission type (walk-in/postal), select 'Passport Application' in application type, enter your ARN, passport number and CAPTCHA (random code of 6 characters/digit/special characters) and hit Track Application.
Hi Nicholas.. I am using BLS provided label for sending the passport. Is it okay to use our own envelope or should we use only Purolator envelope? Because in the pick up email sent by BLS, they say are suggesting to use the envelope provided by Purolator.
Also, should we write anything on top of envelope (like passport number etc.)? thanks.
If purolator is picking up, they will bring their own big envelopes. Its better to use that.
