LANDED..........
21-11-2014
My mother was staying with me for couple of months now and my sister wants to take her to USA for a month or so. My mother cannot speak English fluently, so while she is travelling to USA via airplane, what all should she carry apart from her passport and return ticket to Canada ? I'm planing to write a lteer for border officers so they know her purpose of visit and future plan.

Other question while she come back to Canada after a month, is there any formalities ? Can she stay again here for another six months or is it better to extend her visa once she is back. Because its almost 4 months now since she landed. Kindly advice...
THANKS IN ADVANCE !

Airports have translators. The fact your mother cannot speak English fluently should not be a problem.

When she returns to Canada, how long she is allowed into Canada will be up to the CBSA officer she encounters at the border. You'll have to wait and see how long she is given to determine if you need to apply for an extension or if she has been granted an additional six months.

I HOPE THE CANADIAN BORDER OFFICER WILL PUT A STAMP ON HER PASSPORT STATING THAT, IF NOT SHE CAN AGAIN STAY FOR ANOTHER SIX MONTHS I BELIEVE ?

Please don't type in all caps.

If they put a stamp in her passport that will tell you how long she is being allowed back into Canada (either six months or whatever they hand write in her passport). If they don't, then she's being admitted back into Canada based on her original entry stamp and is allowed to stay for six months from the date of her original entry stamp.
