What did they say? I never got a response from them when I replied to that email.

I would be worried if you never got a response, especially if it's been more than 20 working days. Call the call centre and make sure they received the information. My app got refused because they lost an emailed document of mine. Reopening it was easy enough, but hella frustrating.

I just called and it was a waste of time lol. The agent said they can't look into my file to confirm if they got the documents or not (why the heck not?!). I also asked her that because I went IP after sending them, does that indicate that they received it? And again she said she can't confirm, and that it could just be that Ottawa received my file which is what "triggered" the status change. :/ But then she said "it's looking good." Which contradicts what she said before that. Ughhhhhh. Also Ottawa received my file months ago so I should have had IP a long time ago if that were the case.

The call centre is useless 95% of the time. Contact your VO directly

Anyone know a direct line for Ottawa?

I would also love to know how to call Ottawa directly! Is that a thing?

Also, new theory. The mass change to IP on Aug 6 is because they want to be able to NOT refund people who withdraw? I was just reading this online "You may withdraw your application at any point in the process before the relative you sponsor becomes a permanent resident of Canada. We may refund the fees for either application if we have not started to process it. "

I was thinking the same thing!

ChellyCat, it sounds like you got an agent who didn't really want to bend the rules, but said "it's looking good" because you probably actually are close to the end. I believe that you are right about your IP status - you would have received IP way sooner if it just meant that Ottawa received it. I would hang tight. Compared to most applicants who received IP on August 6th, I would assume that yours actually means that it's being processed. Maybe not as quickly as it has been traditionally, but at least it's being touched.

As a May 12th applicant, I am not sure whether to believe that I am either extremely lucky with a quick processing time, or my late-blooming (92 days!) SA basically put me in the June IP queue, which may not mean my file has been touched at all.

She didn't even take my UCI or file number lol so I'm pretty sure she just pulled "it's looking good" out of her ass. XD Honestly though if they can't look into your file to check that documents were received, what DO they do at the call centre? Seems like such a basic request to me that I was surprised she said she "can't" do it.

Yeah ur right!
Seems odd to me that no agent in Canada can help us Canadians looking into our spouses/families immigrating to Canada. Make sense? Not to me

After our ECAS status changing to "In process" two weeks ago there's now an additional line on the second page when you click through

"We started processing your application on 20th April 2015"

So about the same time it arrived in Ottawa after getting sponsor approval which makes total sense, but no idea why it would take so long to update.

Has anyone else seen this before where the application changes to In Process" but then you get an additional line showing it's been processing for months?

Yes!!! My main page still says "In Process" but now there is another line that says "We started processing XXXXX's application on July 14, 2015." I received SA on August 12 and IP on August 6. How about that for confusing?! I am hoping this is a good sign!!! BTW, ECAS changed shortly after 12:20PM PST for me.

Same here. ECAS just updated with the second line, saying it's been processing my App since May o_o I hope everything is going according to plan.

I just got SA on August 17th.
It was sent to Ottawa for processing.

My husbands ECAS now shows this

Permanent Residence

We received your application for permanent residence on May 26, 2015.
We started processing your application on August 20, 2015.
Medical results have been received.

I find it hard to believe they started processing his application within a couple of days of receiving it.......

So bizarre.

It looks like IP now doesn't mean the same like before and it means exactly what it says in the FAQ area.

Good thing fro the new applicants but nit for us :(

Perhaps that is like an AOR2 now??
