I cant access the spreadsheet, but each VO operates differently I would assume. Are we talking all these June applicants getting IP are in Ottawa or other VO's then that would definitely explain the situation. Last I recall, Ottawa does not classify applications as "IP" when received. They classify them as "Application Received" unless they decided to change procedure within the last month.

The June 'IPs' are all at different VO's
Ottawa
Abu Dhabi
Sydney
Amman
London
Vienna

So for those that haven't been on here maybe quite as long as others, something similar happened with Ottawa and March applicants. Many of them went in process and had decision made before many folks who had applied in Sept-December 2014. There was some speculation at the time that CPC-O grabbed a bunch of 2015 applicants and processed them in order to keep the overall processing time within the 8-10 month range...do a few recent applications quickly in order to keep things looking good. I can't speak for the other visa offices, but Ottawa definitely does not process in order of receipt...it seems very much a luck of the draw, and for those people, in process did indeed mean just that. That could be what we are seeing here, but only time will tell...

It's so hard to know honestly. But I will let people know if/when I received news.

You forgot to mention the following VO that had same situations: Nairobi, Tanzania and Accra. for tanzania we thought before that it was because the VO is new so they had nothing to do, but seems were wrong, as it is worlwide.

Regardless of what it means, I'm going to be very happy when I finally see our status change from "Application Rec'd" to something better.

Yep that is the case that we are all wondering about, since lots of our applications were similar with no red flags and processed very fast, but it seems more likely they do these things in batches, thus the reason for all the IP's at once. Lots of the 2014 applicants got their COPR around the same time. I don't see the reason for worrying about a new batch of IP's, but I could be wrong.

The thing I would wonder about is the lack of dates on the IP's.

There seems to have been a large increase in people reporting seeing IP in ECAS only in the last week or so, and particularly amongst June applicants immediately after they get sponsor approval

It's small numbers so far but it's still noticeable when you look at the 2015 Outland spreadsheet - 'Summary by Date' and the 'ECAS status In Process' column
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1FAYZyQgud1lzp7fM28i2O8ZrfbMAxdTc_t7_fiwI6ak/edit#gid=473691045

Virtually no April or May applicants have IP, but 6 out of the 8 June applicants do.

Yes I would be worried then if I was an April or May applicant, but from my understanding the people with IP are worried. Like rugrat said, this happened earlier this year.

Eh who knows, that is why it is best not to check the forums or the ecas every minute of every day, you will just drive yourself insane.

Got my PPR today, so this "in process" status was for real.

Awesome news!

I am confused why we are worried due to our timeframes? I can see being worried because such a large batch of apps went IP at the same time which seems a bit off. But I went IP and I'm a February applicant, and I feel 6 months is a reasonable time for them to finally finalize my app. Did I miss something? Did a lot of folks who just applied go IP as well?

Apparently that is the case but I think some people spend too much time worrying and thinking of worst-case scenarios.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried, but I'm trying to be rational and patient. xD

Your timeline says you got a doc request at the end of July so it makes total sense that your IP status represents them getting towards the end of your application process,in your case I definitely wouldn't worry too much :)

For me, the concern comes from seeing applicants from June getting IP when we haven't seen anything and we applied two months earlier. Very similar to those late 2014 applicants who were being "overlooked" while seeing early 2015 applicants getting through the system. When I see someone two months later than us see IP it makes me wonder if we did something wrong.

We've been waiting three years to be together and so we're going to be extra paranoid right up until the day we land. Until then, we're going to always have the "oh crap!" thoughts in the back of our minds. We're playing with our entire lives here, so paranoia isn't unexpected.

Hello GUYS,

I have applied my wife's file in Delhi Outland Application. i applied in December, currently they are processing august applicants, Luckily or un luckly my file changed to in process, where there are hundreds of file before me, only two applicants from delhi who applied in december had their status changed to In process. this is what i here, even i thought its a system glitch as there is no processing date on it, There is no way these many offices and only few files have status changed. I'm pretty sure the common talk is CIC did it to complete their quarterly and yearly targets.

I have applied my PR some three years back and same happened with my file. same VISA OFFICE - NEW DELHI. I got my PR in 2 months where ppl where waiting it for 8 months

I have hope that seeing IP still means that the file is being actively processed and DM will come soon. It seems really counter productive to update certain files to IP and then not do anything with them for months, and then access them again to finish the processing.

That is of course unless IP is the new complimentary ECAS status once a VO receives the PR app.

Ottawa processed applications from May/June at this pace last summer. Maybe we're seeing the trend repeat itself this summer.
