Hi folks,
I have few questions regarding my in-Canada spousal sponsorship application. I would be glad if you could share your experience and suggest some way.
I am an international student and waiting for the process of my permanent residency application. My partner and I got married in April 2017 and we have submitted our spousal sponsorship application (In-Canada). This application was received by CPC Mississauga on Aug 07 2017. IRCC is showing the processing time is 12 months.
I could link it to my online account and can check status now. Later, I was asked to submit IMM 5669 and I have submitted on Oct 09 online.
However, I haven't hear back anything from IRCC since then. It's going to be 4 months since I have submitted IMM 5669 and 6 months since they received my application. However, the application status online is showing "Your action Is Required". I have no clue what to do about it since the application steps do not indicate any actions to be taken.
I am being worried as I have no clue if my application is moving forward.

I was wondering:
1. Is it normal to not getting any updates for this long time?
2. Is the online status is normal? "Your action is required"
3. Should I submit a case specific inquiry? (I know they may not reply if the processing time is not over)
4. Is there any way to call and gather information for this case?

I would really appreciate any help and information.

1. it's normal to not get updates for even longer than that (it's been over 8 months for me)
2. i've heard that most likely it's a glitch (although it'd be worth it to double check with the call centre or submit a cse under technical difficulties)
3. only for the "action required" part
4. you can try calling 888-242-2100 but it's gonna take over 30 min of waiting to speak to a person.

Thanks a lot. i will try calling in a morning I think. Could you tell anything about the processing time? Is 12 Months is not definite? Should I expect it to take longer?

from what i've seen so far, it may take a couple of weeks longer, which isn't too bad. i think they changed the approximate processing time to 14 months, according to the automated voice message system. although it may only concern the people who applied before dec 7 2016. please remember, 12 months is not a promise or a guarantee. it's ircc's goal that can be affected by multiple factors (refugee influx and so on). so, don't worry, you'll hear from them eventually.

We are inland around the same time line (applied August, linked and submitted Schedule A around October 13).

Totally normal from my understanding, if you check your mycic you should notice that background check should be in process now so some things are happening, our next step will be the medical request but June applicants are still awaiting requests for that so it's not going to be anytime soon.

From what I gather basically very little will happen on our files and it will all come in a rush towards the end of the process, there is also the thing that things may be happening but mycic/ecas is not updated (some people land with it never being updated lol), the average time is 12 months in total and from reading the inland threads most people land around that time.

So I wouldn't worry.
