'Doing allright here... applied for CAQ/LMO here about a month ago, i need a new permit by the end of july. you think i can apply here in Canada? or better in germany...? i'm here since 2010 july...should be fine if i do it here.

Well..I really have no experience about obtaining work permit..but I believe you can get a new one while you're in Canada..since you're already working there.

Well, it depends on the region (visa office) you're following; and the interviews mission set for this region.

Bank Draft cashed: I guess so, or i wouldn't have received this letter, (?!) but can't confirm, my Bank charges me 10$ for
(RPRF + PRF) each Bankers Draft to be checked, and I gave'em the finger and decided to wait. (DesJardins Bank)


I haven't done a Canadian Police Clearance or Finger printing last year where I applied, so, i think i will do it now and send it with the Medicals straight away to avoid delay in case they ask for it. What do you think?

Congratulaaations lepatissier..

This is a greaaaaaat news..
Yeah, I guess the validity of the Police Clearance is just for 3 months (I guess so..double check yours!).
Normally you should submit a police cert. from every country you lived in for more than 6 months.
You should have sent'em along with the application. You've done so already...right?
I do not really think they would ask for another one.

Another point, normally you do not sent the medical results yourself..it's up to the doctor to take this step. (medical results, x-rays..etc.)

RPRF should be paid when they ask you to do so. These fees are not the same as the application fees you paid upon submitting your applciation.

yes, i sent all the pcc's last year (4 countries) with the application, like they mentioned on their website, (recommended to send it with the initial application to avoid delays). The only thing i didn't send was the Canadian PCC, because where I went to the Fingerprinting Service, the "officer" there said, the government doesn't need them always, i've got the choice between waiting, they usually ask for it now, and, at this time i was a bit low on money. So, i thought, before they (possibly) ask me in 2-3months and processing will be delayed because of this, i do it now.

They gave me an email adress for correspondance. Do you know whether i get documents FROM the Fingerprinting Service which need to be sent to Ottawa, or are going to proceed like the Medicals, where the doctor sends everything himself ?! Otherwise i could just scan and email-attach it.

The Fees i've paid last year with the application, 2 bankers drafts, one for 550$, the other 490$ RPRF. So, they have all the money they need/want normally.

Hi frn, you seem vry experienced would u mind helping me frn abut this matter.
I want to apply in quebec as askilled worker, i had applied in canada as a skilled worker in march 2010 under 4121noc and my file is in process with date inside for more than a year but recently my ex employer got a call from VO ,and he replied iam still working there so iam waiting for the rejection .i have spent pretty much money ,time energy so far as i applied through agent but i want to apply self now iam ready to take french class .what other shoud i do frn plz let me know .iam in australia now but cudnt settle well here.thanks lot in advance

just wanted to say, i have my meds done today,(what a rip-off) and also did the digital fingerprint today, which i will send as soon as i get it to avoid me being asked for it in 3 months, and avoid delays,....hopefully.

hi lepatissier07,
yes, you must update them about any change in status in the format as published on website.
Also you must attach all necessary documents related to change in your status.

You can send them an email first mentioning the change in your status and then send all the necessary forms and documents by snail mail/express courier.

i had a look for the appropriate form "change of conditions" IMM1249E, but i'm not sure if this is the right thing.

I quickly explain my situation with a bit more detail for a re-evaluation:

My current work permit expires end of July 2012 (Young Professional Visa, 1 employer only) Not possible to extend this one, for sure.

I'm about/have to apply for a new Work permit, and have already a LMO/CAQ in progress, then I need to apply for a new work permit.

Same employer, same address at work, same address at home ect. I don't think the IMM1249E is the right thing. Any other forms out there i don't know about?

Or is it enough to send them an email with all necessary info and ask them what forms/docs they need?

It'll be just an info with nothing else changing, except the actual work permit document and work permit number. Is it really necessary to bother them with this ? I mean, i understand if status is changing, such as marriage, address, birth ect....but i will still be here, working. They already know where i'm working since i have applied last year.

What do you think? :

nothing much happening so far from my side. did the meds, which were i.m.o a rip off, the exam took about 4 minutes...lool...i was waiting longer than i've been "examined" lol.

I also sent just in case my RCMP Police Clearance (digital fingerprinting, 6days waiting, including the weekend!)since i have received my file number,...so won't ask me for that one.

The only thing i don't know yet is the case i mentioned a bit further up regarding whether or not to contact Ottawa about the new work permit.

Yep, normally the med. exams do not take much time.

It's fine u made the police clearance, better than waiting any further.

About me, I'll, hopefully, land in Montreal in July!

Now I'm searching for a temp. apartment or studio for my first couple of months!
