I agree that by typing my name, i am electronically signing my application.

i just wanna be 100% sure, so i don't need to hand sign it?

Thank you! :)

After you print it, physically sign next to the name.

I know, I missed this one too and had to send a second hand-signed one via web form.

I am sorry to say but why cant people have the patience to read the guidelines atleast 2 to 3 times. It explains mostly everything!

Sometimes you tend to miss out on minute things even if u go through it a few times. Many external circumstances to cause one to miss such information. This forum was made for helping each other and its fine if they asked. Don’t discourage asking questions. What might seem illogical to you might make or break someone’s application.

He has a point. if it says so on the checklist, guide or any other formal info from IRCC than that what you should do. People will gladly answer it but why not trust the source? I guess many problems and delays could have been prevented if we would read the IRCC info carefully. If you choose to do it yourself (and i think you should) spend the time to do it right. The process is stressful enough even without having to deal with problems and delays

Its not always about trusting the source or not. Its sometimes reassuring you read and understood things right. Mind you this is someone asking about the application pre submission so I dont understand how delays comes into picture. And if you are talking about post submission errors then the person already pays the price by having their application returned. Too late for any help then. Anyways my point is if someone needs help and asks for it, there is nothing wrong about it.

I actually do not mind if people genuinely miss the information even after reading it few times but my only issue is with some ppl who need spoon feeding on this forum, which also does not mean the person who asked the question needs spoon feeding!

No nothing wrong about it. Thats our pleasure to help. Thats why we are here.
The checklist clearly says to print your name and sign in writing, so its always easier to follow official info.
Not doing things right cause delays. If they will sent your app back that will cause you 3-4 months delay. Any forms or info missed and they ask for additional docs may cause weeks or even months of delay. Of course the applicant will be the only one to pay the price, but my point is that being familiar with the basic guide and checklist will save you time. and headache :)

i always read the checklist and guidelines carefully but i still miss some important information and sometimes i need to ask questions too just to be sure if i'm doing it right. i don't think answering some of the questions asked is "spoon feeding" unless they ask everything. my bad for forgotting to re read the page 10 of the checklist but i'm glad people on this forum are still helpful. :)

I've read it 5-6 times.. yeah, people should take the time to read the guide and also look for answers on the forum, when you are ready to send make sure you double, triple check before you send. Do not forget to photocopy/scan all the application just in case you need to look something up or make more corrections.

It will say it on top of the signature box... Only form IMM 5669 needs to be signed electronically and handwritten signature. Everything else, print and sign where you need to.
