You get 19 points.

You need to score 67 points to be eligible for express entry. What is your age, education & work experience?

Hi Iyad,

Your score would be 351. See breakdown below:

Core/Human factors
Age = 105
Level of education = 120
First Official Language = 88
Second Official Language = 0
Canadian work experience = 0
Subtotal - Core/Human capital factors = 313

Skill transferability factors

Education
A) Official Language proficiency and education = 13
B) Canadian work experience and education = 0
Subtotal = 13

Foreign work experience
A) Official Language proficiency and foreign work experience = 25
B) Canadian and foreign work experience B) = 0
Subtotal = 25

Certificate of qualification = 0

Subtotal Skill transferability factors = 38

Subtotal Core/Human capital + Spouse factors + Skill transferability = 351
Additional points = 0
Grand total = 351

You can use this link to calculate your score: cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp
because factors such as Spouse, Canadian Work Experience and Language Proficiency in French Language Exam does count toward a different score.

Well there really is no minimum CRS score to be eligible for express entry. My score is 443 and I haven't entered the pool as I am awaiting my IELTS Scores and WES results.

So far though the minimum CRS Score that has been Invited to Apply through the express entry scheme for permanent residence, is 450. (This was September and October 2015!)

You can find the draws to date and the amount of invitation to apply (ITA)s given on this website: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/rounds.asp

The reality is that your score would have to be greater than 450 to be invited to apply, So we would have to get better language scores, better our education to a post grad diploma or a masters to get the scores that are likely to be invited.

Please read this post for more information: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/express-entry-step-by-step-instructions-t273928.0.html

There are however other options, such as a provincial nomination that might boost our score by 600 points.

So don't give up!

The first step is to check the eligibility. Use this link to check your eligibility http://www.cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/ee-start.asp. Please note that IELTS is not the only factor that determines that you are eligible or not.

IELTS has a major role in boosting your CRS score. Use this calculator to see the impact that higher IELTS can have on your CRS score http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp.

In addition to the CRS score, CIC assesses federal skilled worker applications based on six selection factors.

If you score 67 points or higher (out of 100), you may qualify to immigrate to Canada as a federal skilled worker.

If you score lower than the pass mark of 67 points, the applicant will not qualify to immigrate to Canada as a federal skilled worker and the Express Entry profile would be ineligible

Check this link to know more http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp

Hello Gurus,

I need to know if the dependent's score less than 6 in any section of IELTS is counted towards score?

I tried it in CRS point calcualtor actually it is helping to increase 10 points for primary applicant's scre level but as I know minimum 6 is required in each section,I am confused if that is a constraint?

Thanks

IELTS for the dependent or co-applicant is optional, so there is no minimum cut-off that is applicable, while that is not the case for the primary applicant.

Thank you so much Dan for your great explaination. I understood it well now. The funny part that Im above 67 points but my CRS score is very low ( about 370 ) lool where the average now is almost 470, which is almost 100 points difference (which is i think quite a lot). Im just wondering how can i add more points and get closer to the average ? Appreciate your input )

You are right. Even If I achieve a very high score in the language test, I think I'll still struggle to reach the cut-off score which is around 480. What if I have relatives in canada like an uncle or cousin ? Do you think it will help me to boost up my score ? If yes, by how much ?

No, relatives in Canada have no effect on your score.
