Two questions in section 3 of listening:

Why making presentation as a professional is different with that as a student (meaning from my memory)?
A) Need to plan with audience in mind
B) ...
C) Need to understand audience's feedback
Is it C?

How to keep good relationship with colleagues?
A) .....
B) Socializing together
C) Share a common language
Is it B?

I put B in second question. I don't remember the first one, I may have put A. Does anyone remember what option B was for this question?

This section really threw me off. Somehow I never knew when the first answer came in and then I was playing catchup. How many questions were in this section? I think I got at least 2 right, out of 5 I think. Can anyone think of answers for following question

Why she wanted to get work experience? Was it to see if she wanted to work abroad; or to make contacts; or something else?

If I'm not mistaken, my answer was that she wanted to know if she was good at working with teams.

I put A & B. I lost my focus for a few seconds in this section, because someone came in the exam hall and started whispering something to the invigilator. I was on the very first row, right next to her.

Did you register a complaint?

If her voice was sufficiently high enough to distract from the recording I would have.

Also you got caught out both times on putting down the first answer which is mentioned. If this is your first IELTS its a common trick in some sections, they mention something but that isn't the actual answer.

I'm going from memory

I think the speech mentioned socializing but wasn't the correct answer.

You've heard a word from a possible answer i.e. "socializing" or a sentence "going out after work together" and jumped on it.

It's a typical IELTS trick, they point you towards one answer early then switch it last minute to the correct one.

Apart from the speaking, this whole test I don't consider to be a true reflection of someone's English ability.

Yes, listening is the most tricky part to me.
In section 2, there is a question with answer A. Recurrence of dinosaur.
I heard that and jumped into it. Maybe I was wrong..
BTW, who remembers the questions in section 2?

I thought about registering a complaint, but didn't. Maybe I should have. I have taken ielts before and got 8.5 in listening. It was in a different center and there was pin drop silence in the exam hall. I was really surprised with their actions in the 2nd center.

I believe these were the questions about submitting an article to a radio station.

I can't remember the precise format but one question was about the word count if I re-call correctly.

Then the radio station talked about upcoming shows or films (something along those lines) and you had to pick the correct answer which was the key topic/point relating to them.

The section after that were John and Jill (some random names) discussing who in a work company is best to seek out for what and the answers were the peoples names.

Some answers in section 1:
40, 65, discount, box, stay
Not sure if it is "city centre museum"
Box was definitely an answer for the origami

Wasn't the first section only one word or number, therefore city centre museum would be wrong - it would be museum.

I don't remember stay.

The figures seem correct.

Another was "Saturday" I believe in relation to when the show stopped running.

The guys surname was another.

One tip I can give you for the listening is to read the answers and quickly think of possible answers or something key to listen for.

If they ask you "what day does the show stop running" then you know they will throw in a couple of days just to confuse you.

They don't give you long but I've got that fairly nailed now technique wise.

I know only one word is allowed in section 1.
There is a blank "city centre ".
I am not sure if "museum" is correct answer for this blank since I missed for a second here..
