If you were employed under noc 7233 then I believe you can apply for CECMarkus1 said:Hi
Can you apply for PR under CEC if you spend one year under IEC working as a sheet metal worker ?
Thank you
Yes, IEC is only a work permit and not an immigration program. However, if you gain the 12 months of full-time work experiencealen1111 said:It looks like it should be ok under CEC ,but what about point 10, in the link below

could married couple with a child qualify under iec, or maybe just one spouse?iam_toby said:Yes, IEC is only a work permit and not an immigration program. However, if you gain the 12 months of full-time work experience
required for CEC on an IEC work permit, you're all good.
I did the same.
If both of you qualify under the IEC criteria, then yes. It doesn't matter if you're married or not.alen1111 said:could married couple with a child qualify under iec, or maybe just one spouse?
Thank you,
I'll second that. I'm also coming from an IEC background and have successfully gotten through the AOR stage. What happens next depends on what your app is like. So, dont worry about IEC, focus on your application and supporting documents (i.e. reference letter and so forth).iam_toby said:Yes, IEC is only a work permit and not an immigration program. Could you please elaborate more on :::focus on your application and supporting documents?::: What matter the most ,for them to approve it?CEC2013 said:I'll second that. Speaking of this actually, to give you some hope....my buddy who also came through IEC just got MR and RPRF, and no special concerns on his file about IEC. Good luck then eh!
Yes you need no less than 12 months full-time (or equivalent) experience.Dimitris said:Hello i am here to canada with the IEC for one year my problem is that i landed in canada and after 6 days i start my skilled job. Iwant to apply for the CEC when the time comes BUT i wiil have these 6 days gap. I spoke with an immigration officer and he told me tha to apply foe the CEE you must have at least 12 mounths work exp. nothing more. Can any one help me with that?
Second that. If you're 6 days short, even if it doesn't sound like a lot, you're not eligible under the CEC. Get a second IEC visa or other work permit and then apply.LPS said:Yes you need no less than 12 months full-time (or equivalent) experience.
Your best option will be to apply for another IEC, complete the remainder of the 12 months experience, and then apply for CEC. If you cannot get another IEC (for example, you have reached the age limit) then you'll need to get some other kind of work permit, such as your employer arranging to hire you as a foreign worker.
There are no extensions for IEC work permits, you have to get a new one.Dimitris said:That's so unfair. There's any chance to get a small extent on my work permit to fill these 6 days except the second year of iec? And with out lmo?
