I have completed one month in Canada today and am happy to be here ;D

Got two full time jobs. Working 5 days a week at one place (bank) and 2 days a week at another (cashier at a gas stn) and loving both. The long and tiring PR process of 2 years and 3 months has been put on the back burner and enjoying the present in Canada, the land of opprortunities.

Missing the family but skyping is so comforting to chat with them regularly.

Best wishes to every one waiting for their PR process to complete and come to Canada.

I is so good to see that you have the opportunity to enjoy the new life that you decided to start in Canada.

Congrats Verma, you started in bank straightaway, great achievement. Which bank are you working in and what's your job there?

Congratulations and thanks a lot for this motivational post..... it has indeed given us lot of hope and confidence. Please do share your future experience (I know it will be difficult)

Its a good idea. Please do google search regarding CSC and RIBO. SAP certification is globally acceptable.

Best wishes..

Good for you vermas,

I'm also a banker and would like to know if I should prepare for the CSC exam before landing early next year though I'm still in the process. What about the SAP certification? Please guide. I'd really love to be well prepared before landing.

Many thanks and all the best.

Thanks. Its Bank of Montreal and an entry level job. I have started receiving internal mails regarding career opportunities and it should not be difficult to progress. Again important thing is to gain "Foot in the door", then move around and climb the ladder.

Cheers..

Hi Vermas,

Congratulations..well planned and you got the result.

I've a doubt on OHIP application, I understand that we can apply for OHIP only after having an address proof (bank statement, tenancy agreement etc), but you indicated that birth certificate, Record of Landing/Confirmation of Permanent Residence and passport is what is required for applying the OHIP. Can you please advice on this?

Regards,

JM

Your understanding is correct. Since, I am staying with a relative and dont have a lease agreement, following is the list of documents I am going to carry with me (in originals) to apply for OHIP this week:

1 - COPR document (IMM 5292/5688)

2 - Record of landing (IMM 1000) which we get at the time of landing

3 - Monthly mailed bank account statement received at home

4 - Driver's license I have just got

5 - Passport

Please see folowing link:

I did my BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) and PG diploma in Financial Planning, both from Delhi, worked for 14 months with a reputed bank also in Delhi. Came to Canada to pursue 1 yr PG certificate in Marketing Management, which I completed in May 2009. Now, I am on PG work permit for 1 yr in Toronto and have submitted over 150 applications in the last 8 months but without success. Working at a gas station to make a living. I am yet to realize commencement of my Canadian dream.

God has helped you my son. Never forget his blessings.

True

Absolutely. I strongly believe in him/her and took blessings of Lord Krishna/Vrindavan, Maa Vaishno Devi, Lord Vishnu/at our ancesteral temple, Peer Baba/at our ancesteral village and a holy dip in Ganga before moving to Canada. What I have inherited from my parents, I would respect that and pass on to the next generation.

Best regards,
