Thanks. Its happening. I am glad to have started with a survival job at the gas stn within my first week and at the bank (contract job until Dec 2012) in the second week. I am able to protect funds I brought with me and glad to see them swelling.

Cheers...

Way To Go Mr. Verma !!

Hi Deeaar,

Good to hear you're also well settled. Vernas already said it's a good idea to do a CSC. Could you please advise on anything else that an experienced banker can do before landing in Canada. What about the PMI certification or SAP?

Many thanks.

dear verma...sent u a PM while ago...pls reply!!

Dear Vermas,

Last month I got visa and now planning to land Toronto on 8th July for 45 days. Please advice and guide about;

1. Do I need to fill any application for PR card at the time of landing or after, other than giving an address to them, so PR Card process starts.
2. How many days normally they take to send PR Cards. Me and my family is going for 45 days, expecting that PR Card will be ready during this period as they have mentioned maximum 35 working days on website.
3. My wife doesn't have a birth certificate, but she got her ID card on which her birthdate is mentioned, will this be good enough or birth certificate is mandatory to get medical card and driving license etc.

Regards,
Rehan Sami

Hi Rehan Sami,

1- PR card formalities will be completed at the time of landing.
2- Current timeline is approx 40 days. I landed on 19 April 2012 but still waiting for my card.
3- That should be OK.

Best wishes..

Dear,

Where I landed and which bank I am working (and was working in India) have been mentioned on this thread. Didn't feel like responding to your PM because I am not a racist.

Cheers..

Dear Vermas,

Thanks for your quick response.

Wish you good luck in your carrier.

Please give some more tips (if you have time) about the preparation or requirements I should complete before landing and after landing.

Hi Verma,
For how long you return to India from Canada before getting PR?

Did you able to get any good job during your student visa and work permit there?

How much diffrence you feel in applying job as a temp worker and as PR ?

Thanks Vermas for posting positive feedback and experience in Canada. It's a big boost to all of us who are landing sooner or later.

I salute you.

:) Congrats! very inspiring to all who are also waiting and dreaming of going there. All the best! :)

@Vermas, It's good to know about your successful story. Congratulations...!!

Earlier in this post, you mentioned that you have had experience in Aviation sector. Can you please provide further details of that experience. I understand that Aviation is one of the high demand sectors in Canada (on the priority list for Quebec immigration). But, you are pursuing a career in Banking instead? Can you please provide some insights into that?

I am asking this because I am working in Aviation sector and was hoping to move to Canada for better job prospects. Any feedback is highly appreciated. Thanks.
