STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
APPLICANT :
I, Harman Meet Garg, want to introduce myself as an ambitious person with intense desire to improve knowledge and use that knowledge in the professional world; I would like to Enhance my knowledge in Telecommunication by taking this course of Wireless Networking at your college, George Brown.
BACKGROUND
I have completed my 10+2 in non-medical from Raj High Govt. Sen. Sec. School Sangrur in 2003. After that I have done my B. Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar in 2008 (batch 2004-2008). I also did 6 months Industrial Training in Embedded systems from Silicon Mascot institute Chandigarh.
I have a great interest in networking and I have taught the subjects of computer networking and digital circuit and logical design as a lecturer in Shaheed Udham Singh Technical Institute (A technical Centre authorized by Punjab Infotech Corporation Ltd. undertaken by Punjab Govt.) from 15 Sep. 2008 to 21 Dec. 2009. During my working, when I taught these subjects, my interest in these grew up and I planned to go for practical in depth knowledge of these subjects by pursuing further studies in the same and then I started searching for the course and came across this wireless networking course in George Brown College.
Now, about my family, I belong to a well educated and Well Settled family. My Parents are Govt. employees and working as a Govt. Teacher. I have one elder brother and he is also a Govt. employee and working as a Customer Relation Associate in State Bank of India. My parents and my brother are very supportive and want me to study further for better future and better prospects. They are in good earning position and can afford my higher studies with ease.
FIELD OF INTEREST
The purpose of this statement given by me is to seek admission to your prestigious institute. I want to seek admission because in my own country there are very limited colleges which provide with the Wireless Networking and there are limited courses and seats as well.
My interest in Telecommunication developed when I started doing Degree in Electronics and Communication. I have strong hold on the subject and I believe it is one of my favorite subjects. Hence engineering with computers networking as my major was the first choice for my graduate studies. Right since the beginning of my graduate study Communication and Networking is a subject that has fascinated me with its power of being the backbone of any company. The subjects that I have studied include Communication Systems, Digital Signal Processing, Antenna and Wireless Communication, Computer Networks, Signal and Systems, C++. These laid the foundation for my courses in Electronics and Communication. A PG Certificate in Wireless Networking as major field is the next logical step.
I believe that Wireless Networking studies can help me to develop other vital skills essential to my standing as a professional. For example, I will benefit from the opportunity to further polish my practical knowledge and understandings in the field. I feel that an international education will equip me with the skills necessary to become a successful professional.
