I just linked an article from a recent court ruling that upholds laws banning hate speech. I found it by Yahoo search bar... I'd probably never find it again! :)

Kimjao,

This country believes in individual human rights and you would be welcomed here if you can find a way to get a visa.

I know its too hard to get that visa, its soo selffish if i ask him to go here in the philippines to live with me if i know what will be the consequences of it. I dunno what to do, im soo innocent with this things. I hope someday ill get it, and able to live with him, or just see him in person, i want him to be happy even for a short period of time. This is the only thing i can give to him.
Ps; he's not that rich person soo i think it will take time for me to be there. But i wont loose hope untill he says that "i am tired, and i want you to be free" thats all for all my haters i dont care about your dumb comments. Soo yeah

in my own perspective..... you have a very slim chance with this case..... just put yourself in the VISA OFFICER's place, there are just lots of red flags in your situation... i know all of us are entitled to love and be loved but lets accept the fact that as much as we think we have the right, canadian gov't has the right as well who are the people that they will let in their country....

i'm not discriminating but this is the fact with immigration, - if you came from a rich country and you are wealthy, its very easy to go to canada but from a third world country, its like getting pass thru the eye of a needle....

I did look another option this is the easy way, the TRV its ok for me to wait but im scared about the time, i mean his condition. Should it work if i present a papers stating that i am enrolled in a review for my upcoming board exam this dec. and the review will start on july, i wil apply a 3~week vacation only this may?
To get a TRV, you have to prove you will leave Canada, so this evidence would be very good. Include the other evidence posters have mentioned. Don't say you are going to meet your boyfriend.

If you want to apply to immigrate to Canada under conjugal class, you and he will have to have had a relationship of at least one year that is like a marriage. CIC will not count the time before you meet in person as part of this one year. Your online relationship is good evidence the relationship is genuine, but it is not enough. So first, I think the two of you must meet in person. I know he is sick, but could he manage even a one-week visit to you? He might be able to stay longer if he can arrange to have his medication check done at a hospital in the Philippines. One you two have met in person, then you could say the time-line for your conjugal status has begun. One year after that first visit, you would be good to apply for your PR as a conjugal partner. He must try to visit you as often as he can. You two must keep all evidence of contact: proof of visits, phone calls, Skype calls, emails, letters, proof of support, etc. Only use a calling card from a company that can give you a print-out of the calls made and to what number.

You do have some chance at conjugal if you meet in person: you cannot get into Canada, and he will have to submit proof that his medical condition is such that he cannot stay in the Philippines for one year.

It would be faster if you two could meet in a third country that allows same-sex marriage, and get married there. You would still need plenty of evidence of contact and communication, but you would not have to wait for a year.

Very few countries in the world are visa-free for Filipino Citizens as they have high immigration and over stay rates abroad. Having had a TRV denied will likely mean a US visa would also be denied (the US offers same-sex marriage in many jurisdictions as well).

Perhaps Mexico will be more linient and grant a tourist visa - Mexico has same-sex marraige; if not, they still have Brazil which is visa free for Filipinos and has same-sex marriage as well.

If the prospective sponsor is medically unable to travel to Mexico or Brazil or anywhere at all outside Canada where you could travel to meet each other, then your chances to making a stronger immigration case are very small.

I do not believe Medical conditions are included in the reasons that may justify applying under conjugal, even if you guys have met once in person.

This seems like a very complex case. From all angles. Please understand that the way you see it is not the way CIC will most likely see it. To them this is the case of an older and ill man that is being prayed on by a (much) younger guy from a 3rd-world country that wants an easy way into Canada. If you have no proof to substantiate a case, CIC will not approve a PR for you.

Reality is harsh and sometimes good intentions are just not enough.

Yes, if the marriage is recognized in law by both Canada and the 3rd country.

I would be marrying next month and intend to apply for the PR under the spousal sponsorship category. I had a few questions about it,
1) How soon can I apply for the PR once I am married?
2) At what stage can I apply for the work permit?
3) How many days does it take (approximately) for the AOR ?

1 : As soon as you can provide all the documentations needed for the full application.
2 : You are applying inland I am assuming and it is my understanding this takes about 4 months, and that people submit the OWP with the application
3 : Not sure for Inland, maybe someone can chime in.
