Hello Seniors,

Probably this question has been asked several times but I could not find it.

I am on a work permit in Canada and my spouse is a PR. Now I am applying under family class for PR.

My spouse and I are living together since our marriage in November 2012 till now in Canada. I want to apply from outside Canada for my PR.

My question is : Despite the fact, that I and my spouse are in Canada together, should I just fill out the application forms which says " Sponsorship of a spouse living outside Canada" ? I just feel a little odd to fill out forms which are actually crafted to interrogate the applicant who is living outside Canada ???? While I am living inside ?

Please suggest if I am selecting the correct forms for outland despite living within Canada?

Thank you for your response in advance.

It's perfectly acceptable to do this. We did exactly the same. Think of it more as "where the application will be processed" as opposed to "where you are when you submit your application". With outland the applicant is free to travel outside of Canada while with inland your are not, so if ever there's a family emergency that you must depart for, outland is the way to go. For many VO's it is also much faster than inland.

@truesmile

Many thanks for your reply.

My wife is the sponsor and she is not working as she is studying for her pharmacy exams. But I am working full time and supporting household. Can I explain this? Or she is supposed to have full time job and income?

Appeciate your help.

There is no minimum income requirement for spousal sponsorship, but you do have to show how you will support yourselves . . . by all means, explain it in detail. Financial dependence as I understand it is a "plus" for your application.

Perfectly acceptable.

We were living in Canada for over 3 years while one of us was also on Work Permit and the other half is a citizen. We applied Outland and got landed in 95 days after we submitted a complete package.

The Outland process for us was WAY WAY WAY WAY quicker than Inland, but our Visa Office is also very quick on average.

G'luck... :)
