How to renew expired visa

I had a 3 year student visa which was expired on november 30th 2012, I wanted to visit back home this summer.

I am on a 3 year work permit at the moment, expiring 30 march 2015, How can i renew my travel visa? How long will it take? Do i have to do it before i leave canada?

anyone??? I been really depressed lately and somewhat suicidal i need to go home to see a psychiatrist as i cant afford one here. Living by myself form the past 3 years took its toll. I been trying to get a job since last year but havenot got the job i wanted, clearly I am not going to get a permanent residence.
