Hello,
I am a Canadian citizen and currently sponsoring my husband, who is a U.S. citizen to Canada. We both live in the states.
Our application has been received in March 2011 and the first part is approved already in April. The second part, which was through the office in Buffalo, sent us a letter requesting an RCMP fingerprinting done. They wouldn't give us the reason for requesting this material, since my husband has never lived in Canada, but in any case, since they asked, we went up to Toronto to get the electronic fingerprinting done on the first weekend of July. So far, we haven't heard anything from Buffalo. We have written Buffalo a few times in different ways to see if they have received the paperwork and so far they refused to say anything. How can we find out if Buffalo has received the paperwork from RCMP or not? If this is the only piece of document that they need, usually how long is the hold up?
We have seen other people in this site that has already been approved for PR, and our case is extremely straight forward in my humble opinion. How long should we wait before we should really be concerned about the receipt of this document? And if, God forbid, Buffalo didn't receive the document, how will we find out?
Thanks for all your input in advance.
