VO is the visa office.
Generally people who are visa-exempt get a bit less scrutiny, as they have less to gain from moving to Canada, therefore a lower risk of trying to commit fraud or entering a marriage of convenience. It's still possible of course, but the risk is lower than someone coming from a less affluent country.

The title made me smile. :)

Thank you, that makes sense! As someone from a visa-exempt country (Germany) I hope that the visa officers will acknowledge this and give me my PR soon ;D

Mine is kind of thin and what I saw and read in this forum it seems most ppl sending thick package.

so i am kind of worried.

My situation is simple.

my husband and i have neve been apart- so no long distance realtionship evidence needed.
we lived together in canada for years before we got married, but could not find any evidence now.
we do not have wedding or any ceremony but reception without photo (has separate sheet explained why we do not have any photo in our reception)
we have married for a year and have a daughter

so my supporting document is
plane tickets for our trips. lamaze class certificate.
photos- appx. 40 photos including I am holding my daughter in delivery room and couple of photos with my in-laws in canada

would that be enough?
How about the documents with names? such as:

Joint bank account(s)
Leases/Rental agreements
Letter from community/people/friend who know both of you and your relationship
facebook pages
life insurance, stuff
Joint phone accounts, utlitu bills, etc.

Your case seems a bit complicated, because you've been refused PR through CEC class, and refused a work permit. Plus the fact you don't have any pics of the civil ceremony, and no wedding at all, or any kind of ceremony. I recommend you try to submit more supporting documents than usual, otherwise you should be prepared to answer these tough questions during the interview. CIC is usually very wary of people who've shown multiple attempts to remain or enter Canada.

first, sorry for confusion of the title to everyone. did not think double meaning until i read replies. :)
and thank you all for your reply.

1) I send my application few days ago.
but As milkeymyke said, i tried couple of times to stay in canada longer.
I explained why i rejected PR under CEC and my situation on separate sheet but not sure it would satisfy them.
also explained why we did not have ceremony etc.

2) I read from another thread that having a baby together does not prove the relationship is genuine to CIC.
is that true??
I send 4 - 5photos when i gave birth to my daughter ( mostly photo taken in hospital)
now i think it might give an ideas that I am trying hard to tell that my baby is proof of my relationship so don't have doubt about our relationship…
or am i just paranoid?

3) i applied outland and we do not have joint account (do not have joint account system in korean bank) or insurance or Facebook (i do not have)
to support our relationship so i did not send any of them.

only thing i have is congrats cards for marriage and pregnancy from my in-laws and my husband's relatives.
do i need to send photocopy of each card as supporting docs?

would they ask to interview if they suspect our relationship?

i am very nervous and paranoid now.

thanks

I think having a baby certainly helps, not hurts. The photos of your child will help you.

A baby alone does not 'prove' a relationship is genuine, but taken in combination with other factors such as how well you have merged your affairs(finances, daily lives, etc), whether you are interdependent(i.e. rely on one another financially, emotionally, physically), etc, it is a positive factor for sure.
The problem comes when a couple has a baby but seem to be living separate lives, basically the opposite of what is mentioned above, then the baby alone will not help in such a case.

They will request an interview if they have doubts about the relationship being genuine or any other questions they need clarified. Just try to relax and all will be well.

I must say that skimming through this thread has me a bit intimidated as I planned to only included the following:

- Completed required IMM documents with letters by each of us detailing our relationship.
- Required additional documents (police check both in Canada and Japan, marriage certificate (married 8 years, no kids yet), her birth certificate (koseki touhon), current visa status in Canada, our passports, my Canadian birth certificate).
- About 100 photographs dated with details on the back in a smaller envelope (is that the best way?).
- Information about my employment status.

I am concerned that the above may not be nearly enough. Will this be an issue or sufficient?
