How much in advance can we apply for a visitor visa?

My husband and I, both Indian nationals want to apply for a visitor visa to Canada. We are residents of Mumbai, India.

We have a travel plan for a few months, starting in June from Brazil. We want to travel through South America for a few months and proceed to North America and return back to India by December.

We would like to enter Canada by November. Can we apply for a Canadia visa now for entry in November? Can absence from home country be considered as a reason for early application?

If applying now for entry in November is not an option, can we apply for a visa outside India? Do any Indians have experience applying for a visa outside of India?

You can certainly try to apply for visitor visa from India but not in other country where you do not reside.

The earliest one can apply should NOT be more than six months from the planned entry date. Hence, you can apply accordingly
