Hello All,

I got two 1-inch and one 3.5 inch tattoos on my forearm. How much would be the extra charge for them in the medical process. My friend got charged $50 :o :o for a mere 1-inch tattoo on his arm. Please advise.

This is the first time I ever hear about this. When we called to book our medicals they gave us a flat fee and didn't ask about anything related to tattoos

They told me a flat rate too but also informed me about some additional charges that might occur depending on the applicant.
Do you have any tattoo? Did you have your medical already? If yes, did they charge you extra for tattoos?

It happened to my mom who was applying for the parents and grandparents super visa. Dont remember the exact charge.

out of curiosity: why should it cost extra if you have a tattoo?

and why should it depend on the size of the tattoo?

No I don't have any. But you can call another panel doctor to double check in the meantime

Yeah, I'm really curious about this as well. Why should it matter?

yeah, in fact, I'll call them and make sure what other charges they are talking about and how much exactly would they charge for my tattoos?

I find it weird though, I mean what's the point in charging extra for tattoos.

I have tattoos. I didn't get charged extra when I'm doing medical exam. She just asked if I have tattoos, I said yes and thats it.

I was told it's an extra £60 per person if you have "large" tattoos (no idea what constitutes large, but unfortunately I think the tattoos my husband and I both have probably do).

Did you pay that tattoo fees separately in cash or was it included in the flat rate medical fees?

I am guessing it has to do with the tests involving interaction of ink with bloodstream (that's why people can't donate blood shortly after getting a tattoo) but that's just my speculation

I guess if they demand separate cash payment for tattoos that will be considered an under the table payment which is not acceptable as per IRCC's guidelines as long as they themselves have not passed such law.

I have 4 tattoos, 2 of which are pretty large, and I did not pay an extra charge.

I have a sleeve tattoo and had no extra charges. This seems like a scam.
