I much prefer Calgary to Edmonton also, I am in Red Deer, so right in the middle of the two :) Kelowna is beautiful - BC reminds me alot of New Zealand :)

I liked Red Deer as well. We've been up there a few times. Went and sat on a hill in the park that overlooked everything. It was so nice. But my husband has some very negative memories with Red Deer so I doubt we'll ever live there. :/

Red Deer is the size city I'm used to. Would rather live there than a bigger city like Calgary.

Yeah I guess if you've had a bad experience somewhere you'd try your best to avoid that place. I know that feeling :) I lived in the north east part of London (England) for four years before moving out here, and I will never set my foot there ever again just pure negativity.

Red Deer has cheap houses though so it would be ideal. Same with Airdrie :) compared to Calgary anyway.
Ya it's too big, too much of a hassle of horrible, horrible drivers (I'm sorry, but I have to put it out.. I'm almost scared driving in and around the city) :D

I want to move to NZ too. I asked my husband. His response "Nat Geo channels says it's full of volcanos."

Grrr.

Disclaimer: I realize this isn't realistic.

I wanted to go live in a Hobbit house......... complete with the ponies.

I've never read the book. I liked the movie though. I took it for what it was - an interpretation of the book by Peter Jackson. Then again, the eagles were in the movie. Sold! :D

Oh well maybe I'll get my farm one day.

I bet the books are way better, yeah! :)
A farm or an acreage wouldn't be so bad, definitely am getting myself a couple turkeys then! :)

When I was 19, I came from work one night at dusk.

There was a tom on my dad's car. This turkey was as big around as the roof of the car. And he was just chilling.

My dad didn't believe me.

Yup, no idea how it got up there, but he was just chilling out. The look on my dad's face was priceless.

I came home the next night and told him there was a cow on his car.

This is true, there is a few, but the last one that actually killed people was over 100 years ago! We had one erupt when I was in primary school, probably close to 20 years ago (Man I feel old), I remember walking to class and everyones eyes started hurting and the sky was grey - we thought it was acid rain. Found out Ruapehu had erupted and by morning our entire town (about 2 hours away from the volcano) was covered in about 3cms of ash. But its COOL, not scary.

Lots of earthquakes too, but its nature, and they are kinda exciting, in a weird way!

Im sure more people die in Canada from cougars / bears / than people in NZ die from volcanoes! :)
