Uh oh and I guess we don't have a choice then. How come we don't want that?

It generally means they want/need an interview and more proof.

Ok and is that very likely with vegreville? I guess it's tough to say since every application is different.
We did include a number of things such as joined bank accounts, two 6 months leases both signed by us, pictures, mail being sent with both our names to same address, statements from his side of the family along with his friends - but not much else!

And how are we going to know if we are transferred - ecas?

It sounds like you sent enough to convince someone. Keep anything that shows you have a continuing relationship in case they ask for more. The will inform you either by email, snail mail or in rare cases, a phone call.

Local office usually adds significant time to the process. It's Vergeville's 14 months PLUS the local office's time.

Snail mail.. Awesome description! Well thank you, it's always good to hear. I'm hoping we are good so far.. :)

We sent an OWP with the application to vegreville, is that affected by the strikes going on? Or are we hoping to get it within 6-8 months? Sorry I like to ask questions :)

The diplomats on strike are not immigration officers.

Wow I thought all inland applications were delayed this year!

They are slower than normal, but summer is the slowest time of year. Why? People tend to take more vacations in the summer. A lot of users here seem to forget the IOs are humans too.

Although I do wonder if some lazy, unethical IOs are using the confusion to do nothing useful.

That makes perfect sense. I really did think we all had to go through long delays of like 2-4 months.. Went and told my parents even which did react badly. I wouldn't be surprised, you find the lazy bums around every type of job I believe.. Just unfortunate the lazy ones are having another persons life in their hands pretty much!

Speaking as a manager, it surprising the amount of pushback you get from employees and other managers if you try to hold your employees to high standards. I had 1 useless, lazy employee and my managers made me powerless to do anything about it and didn't bother to address the issue dispute numerous complaints from me and other staff!

Sad part was, these guys weren't inherently lazy or bad managers. They just didn't want to deal with it.

High standards - that's Amikety :D

Start a lobby to put ME in charge of Vegreville. I'll get them whipped into shape and require better communication cuz I know how frustrating it is firsthand.

Also we need to move the office to Kelowna, because my husband said if I ever move to Vegreville, we're getting divorced.

Hahaha you are awesome!

That sounds like my past job lol. Nobody wants to deal with them, they probably know deep inside its not worth it in the end lol. Doesn't hurt trying hard with the guys up there, most of them probably haven't even been in a situation like us (can't say for sure) to care enough in the end of the day. Just my opinion/thought :)

Haha what's so bad with Vegreville? I'd choose Kelowna over it no doubt about that.. That's if we could afford leaving Calgary lol. Super expensive!

My husband lived in Edmonton when he was younger. I don't know all the details, but he hates it. I'm guessing it was a crappy time in his life or something bad, bad happened when he lived up there.

I love mountains and water, so Kelowna is wonderful! My father-in-law lives out there :D All of our trips, my husband tries to go somewhere new and I always just want to go see Dad :P :D

I don't blame ya, Kelowna is breathtakingly beautiful!! I prefer Fernie and Mabel lake since a family friend of ours have houses right out to lakes and creeks! BC is just beautiful. I wouldn't mind moving out there some time. You're lucky your in law lives there. :)

Calgary isn't so bad either though, I don't like downtown. I live in airdrie and that's just a perfect little city. I've been to Edmonton once just to see that huge mall, but no it's a dull and dirty town in my opinion, everybody I know here in calgary calls it deadmomton not entirely sure why :D
