:D My status just changed to IP last night.
in the same time, I received a reply email regarding my previous question for HKVO

I filed my application last December.

Can anyone tell me, How long it takes from IP to Passport request?

Thanks

Hey Ian C.,
Congrats for getting IP!

Like bukeluke, I am also still at Application Received.

Martinzx, congrats on reaching IP... in my wife's case though, a few days after getting IP we got a request for more stuff. We handed the required information and we've been waiting for 30 days since. We hope to get something soon as it's really nerve racking @.@ but maybe you had all your ducks in a row, it'll go more quickly then.

hi Ymserver/Bukeluke,
you guys should be almost to reach IP for your (HKSAR holders) cases with Bukeluke. all you have to do is waiting their response. FYI, I wait for 45 days+ after IP is granted. They don't ask me anything as I did all steps including Police check & payment fee as well as medical check. Thus wait for the PPR.

Sartha,
What passport you hold for your case ? HKSAR or China passport ? want to know so we can analyze the days we need for our process from IP to PPR.

Thanks.. Ian

Congrats on the IP Martinzx, would you please share your timeline on the spreadsheet so everyone could estimate their timeline better? Thanks!

From the recent cases on our spreadsheet, it takes at least a month to get the passport request.

Few applicants got PPR few days after Ecas showing IP but it actually all depends on the VO.

It's really a long wait for and I hope I could receive anything in the coming weeks. I will move to Canada in Nov anyway and wait for CoPR if still not ready. At least I can get familiar with the life and move to a new home first...

Ian C., my wife has a hong kong passport... she told me that all of the people from her qq group for immigration that handed in their stuff around the same time as us have already gotten their request for passport, we are still waiting for that.

Could anyone let me know what's the photo specification for my parents' photo request from experience? I am not sure are they HK passport photo, Canadian passport photo, or PR card photo?

For my kid, the request said passport photo, but it also said photographs must conform to the specifications outlined in the Guide to Immigrating IMM 3999 and Appendix B Photo Specifications.

hi sartha,
can you kindly tell us when CIC received your application and when your status to IP. Did you get the status to Decision Made already for applicant side ? I am not sure do we need to send the HKSAR passport to HKVO ? or need photocopy of HKSAR ? or no need to send passport as some here said that no need to send the passport to HKVO , and only COPR is granted without passport sent. Anyone had this experience before ? please advise..

Hey Everybody!!!

My Status Changed to In Process as of Today!!!!! ;D Woke my wife up in the middle of the night to tell her!. Now we can finally see the end coming after all these months and it's reinvigorated us with all this energy. We will start preparing for the Passport Request (Thank You Brian!!!). We decided to change the date earlier that I will visit her to October 1-12. We will have a formal wedding ceremony 1 year after getting our marriage license!!! Hope we will be able to fly back to Canada with on that date together. I will be taking extra suitcases to bring back most of her things either way :) .

Congrats on everyone whose status have changed to IP !!! Finally more purple on the spreadsheet!!

From another forum, there's people contact their MP for

1) Status changed to DM but haven't got the PPR email for a while

It turned out to be HKVO sent PPR to the wrong email and she almost couldn't send her passport within 30 days.

2) Status remains application received when every applicants status have changed to IP

It turned out to be it actually is in process but the VO hasn't changed the eCAS. (By this case I think maybe there are more applicants are IP already but the eCAS just haven't updated yet)

If you have any doubts about your case, I'd suggest you to contact the MP in your area, it may also put more pressure on the VO to update the eCAS as they should to ease our mind of the long waiting time.

Wish HKVO speeds up and everyone graduates from the wait and desperate separation from our significant others.

Hi vanhk, would you please add your timeline in the spreadsheet? We really need more applicants to join so everyone can know better to analyze their cases!
