Hi,

Does anyone know when CIC requests passport, should the applicant supply both HK passport AND BNO (if the applicant has it)? or just the HK passport is sufficient?

Thanks!

Hi,
I submitted my application in August last year and recieved AOR and Medical Exam Request in Oct. Until early this month, I recieved another email from HKVO to submit all documents again such as source of fund, personal history, etc. In the last portion of this email, it also required me to provide all police clearance since age of 18. Does anybody here has the similar situation? Seems that this is rare to me as I did submit all documents to them at the very beginning together with my application.

Regards,

Patrick

ymserver,

HK is visa-exempt country. Refer to other forum we do not require passport submittion.
I guess CIC will send us a letter for imm landing at airport or at the border.

Hi Mumof3,
that is perfect. thanks much to share the information as we have the almost the same time to get the COPR. ( you are 1 month earlier than me that is our expectation from CIC process ). one more thing, how do you know that you can get the PR document (PR visa ) before July ? is it a risk to schedule the ticket of July flight ?

Ian.
Ian,

Yes, so glad majority of HK app progressing quite well. We go Canada very often as our second daughter is studying elementary there since some years ago. My husband decides the whole family returning to Cdn this summer. We booked air-tickets 6 months ago before submit my app. I booked a single ticket for them but I got a return ticket. We also apply the elementary school for our girls coming Sep.

One more thing that I must share with you. I talked to my Canadian accountant today for filing my Canada tax return. He reminds me that to prepare form B4 in detail. The goods to follow are incl. all household stuffs and valuable goods. We must declare all our properties in HK/ other country value over CAD 100,000 such as : Housing, stock/funds(MPF), money in bank, shares in business, membership in timeshare/club.......etc., It is better to find a company estimated its value around the time period of our landing date.
--> I thought that form B4 is only for household products and accompany goods.

We should have to discuss how to fill the form B4 of goods to follow and accompany lists. :)

Hi

My sponsor got a SA on February 15. According to the spreadsheet of Nov, most of the application of hk received a aor2 but i didn't receive any email or letter of AOR2, should I call HKVO?
LN9714,

Why don't you give a phone call to CIC requesting if there is any missing doc/ data? It is unusal your app is blocked.
You app rec'd on the same day as mine. Perhaps HKVO already rec'd your app but Miss CIC did not send AOR2 email.
Don't worry! Our app is moving, yours too!

HK is not a country. It's just a SAR of China. Anyways, passport holders don't need a visit visa to visit Canada but they do need to have a landing visa in order to complete their landing formalities in becoming a permanent resident of Canada. Therefore, they do need to submit their passport to HKVO.

I think you are confused.

Yes, B4 is only for household products, accompanying goods and goods to follow (such as furniture). However, for assets such as company shares, money at bank, house, stocks/funds (MPF), etc, you would have to declare them in your tax return. Your accountant can explain this in more detail when he help you to file your tax return.

Completing the goods accompanying and follow form (B4E) is not difficult. For the B4E, you would write your name as the importer; write your Canadian address as the importer address; write household effects (landed immigrant) as the description and enter your estimation of the good's value. Tick the 'settler' box and then attach a detail list of the items.

Hi LN9714,

We got AOR2! Hope yours is coming soon! There seems to be some variance in terms of the time lag. You may want to call if you don't receive anything in another week or so. Good luck!

Hi, Mumof3,

Steaky saying is absolutely correct. That is what I heard so far that we don't need to do anything about assets like properties, stocks , MPF , bonds , fixed deposit in HK and etc... and need to declare after landing to CDN after 1 years for filling tax return for any incomes generated for these assets. for property, we need to find the
official surveyor firm to estimate the market value at that time ( landing date ) so it can compare the gain/loss
for tax purpose in Canada (fiscal year) while selling ( let's saying 1 or 2 years later). for detail, need ask your CDN accountant to explain it. for ease of transferring your cash money between HK and Canada (HKD / CDN/USD), did you open the Premier in HSBC - Global account so that no charge to transfer cash in second anytime.

Keep on sharing the experience each other to make the thing smooth and understanding before landing.

Thanks again for Steaky.

I just got SA! How did you guys get contacted from CIC after SA (besides ecas which is delayed to show)? via sponsor's email, or applicant's email? (eg AOR2, Med Rec'd etc)

How long did you wait between SA and AOR2/ "File transferred"? I am guessing 2 weeks?

Also, is anyone's app being processed in Mississauga/ Ottawa? Mine was sent to HK.

Not in the July 2014 thread.

I received SA and file was transferred on September 18,2014. On October 28, 2014 HKVO requested criminal check and status changed to in process on that date. We received no other update until DM on ECAS last week.

I guess we are just waiting for passport request now?
