Really? The lawyer told me I only have one months to pack up my stuff. Please let me know if your visitor gets approved or not. Which one of the visitor did you apply? Visiting family?

From some of my friends, what i heard is if you are currently in canada and u are a study or work permit holder, CIC would normally gives you 6 months visitor visa since u may need some time to pack or finish thing up before going back to your home country.
However, if you are currently out of canada and have applied for the FAM, then it would be hard to get approval.

FYI guys, My wife ended school in Feb 2012, and then I convert her to visitor visa. they gave us 3 extensions of 6 months till they told her she must return back to HK in June\July 2013. Then, I went to HK to get her, and we flew back together November 2013. they gave her 3 months visitor again, then 6 months extension till July 2014. We try to apply another 6 months, then got rejected Nov 2014. Finally, I said we should do the sponsorship, wasting too much time. Waited for AOR1, then applied for restoration of status (Jan 2015) advising my wife want to stay while family sponsorship. You get 90 days to re-apply when they reject you.

Anyways, was approved, and 6 months grated till Jun 2015. Applied for another 6 months again. I'm not too worried. Pretty sure she will get approved. So you guys don't have to worry much

Mine is still "Application received". I do not know what is wrong, and they never requested anything additional.
It might be the reason that my wife is from Fujian province.

Congratulations. You got your passport back with COPR in 7 days after passport request!!! May I know what courier you use to send passport? Or maybe you are physically in Hong Kong?

Did you order the notes? It may give you some clue of why they put your wife for interview.

Has anyone with application time in Jan of 2015 receive anything from the Hong Kong visa office yet? I think the office is working on application in Dec. of 2014.

My other question would be that I am living in Taiwan so I filed the application in Hong Kong. But I do not have a Taiwan passport, is that a problem?

Anyone can give some inputs would be much appreciated.

Ordered the same date I received the info from my MP.

What passport do you hold? What is your eCAS status? You can take a look of the spreadsheet for the current cases.
Please share your timeline here and keep it updated so this spreadsheet can benefit everyone.

That's good, CIC normally will give you at least 30 to 60 days notice before the interview by then you've got the notes already and you will have time to prepare for it, cheers!!

I have US citizenship, but currently living in Taiwan. I can add my data at the end of the spread sheet or do I insert per the time line?

It shouldn't be a problem if you hold a U.S. passport since before CIC changed the form, applicants could choose which VO their applications sent to regardless their home address and nationalities.

You can just add the timeline at the bottom of the spreadsheet, thanks a lot!

I added my info into the spread sheet. Now my status is still in " application received", does that mean the VO has not started the processing of my application and when they actually start the processing, the office will give me a notification or the e-status will change?

It depends on the visa officer to change the eCAS (some still shows application received although the applications are actually in process) but they don't send you in process notification, you will only get the email if the VO needs some documents or the passport request email. Just check eCAS some times for the status changes and email in case Hong Kong VO sends you emails.

I just logon to the system this afternoon that something has been added. It's about "We started processing your application on mar 23, 2015".

Do you guys have this? When you click to the link of "in process", it shows there...

Did you mean your IP date on eCAS was changed from Aug. 4 to Mar 23?

I'm still waiting for my IP.......sigh.
