So you got (a) and (b) (Criminal record search certificate based on your name, right?).
I am not sure how long is the Criminal record search certificate valid for. The RCMP Criminal Record Check (the one based on fingerprints) is valid for 3 months. People said as long as you submitted your application within the 3 months of obtaining that RCMP Criminal Record Check, then you would be fine.

In your case, since technically you have never submitted a RCMP Criminal Record Check (based on fingerprints), perhaps CIC will ask you for one later.

How I was told by the RCMP was that: "digitized fingerprints" means that the police officer would take your fingerprints directly on a scanning device at their office (that would take 3 business days or less processing time). (By scanning the paper fingerprints (a) you obtained to get the same RCMP Certificate, that would take 22 weeks http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/en/processing-time-criminal-record-and-vulnerable-sector-checks)

Therefore, when CIC asks you to submit a RCMP Criminal Record Check, you should get (c) (perhaps you have to pay again...). The police officer would scan your fingerprints from your fingers at the office.

Yes, and it's simpler to go to a RCMP office to do it because it's more reliable. http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/en/locations
I did mine at a RCMP office (also a police station).

Thank you for the reply!!! I really hope CIC won't tell me to submit the criminal record check, it's very annoying to do it in a small town not to mention I have to pay again.... >:(

Hi guys. I have a question here. I submit my wife's application in March 2015. Current eCAS status "Application received". File has arrived in HK in early Jun 2015. My wife did her medical exam in shanghai in July. She tried to use her UCI (obtained from CIC when she visited Canada), but was told by the medical clinic that there was no medical exam request under her UCI (probably means HK VO hasn't opened her file yet). Talks to the lawyer and the lawyer suggested to do the exam using only passport (like a up-front exam). She received a 2-page document from medical clinic with the title "eMedical Information Sheet". There is a barcode starts with "UMI" on the top right of the first page. Is this the correct sheet to submit to HK VO? And is "https://secure.cic.gc.ca/cicemail/intro-eng.aspx?mission=hong kong" the right address to upload her medical sheet? Was going to ask the lawyer (our rep) to upload it. But I don't want any delay so I decided to upload it myself. Thanks in advance!

Anyone can kindly give me some inputs on my questions? Thanks!

Hi Dec Applicants,

I changed from IP to Decision Made in ECAS on 13 Aug and nothing happened until today( Aug 20). my spouse got the PPR and request to send 3 photos as well. I have sent all to HKVO today and wait for their reply. I believe that HKVO will send back the passport and COPR within 1 weeks or so , based on the HKVO trend. If I have any further update, will let you guys know.

Can't believe I just received a passport request email today :-\ :D

I am still staying in Canada till October, should I send my passport to Ottawa or hkvo? Any suggestion?

Hi LN9714,
I think our case is similar if you hold HKSAR passport. Me too, I changed the Decision Made first on 13 Aug, and ask PPT on 20 Aug, and then wait for 1 week or so, then HKVO will email to PA (spouse) to ask for passport request (PPT), then all you have to do is send the PDF of your HKSAR ( all pages) as well as what HKVO ask for you ( e.g 3 photos and PR fee if applicable). I think it may take 1 week or so to grant you COPR by registered mail. If you are in Canada, then you may need to send passport to Ottawa ( may be take longer time). HKVO may take 1 week or so if there is no other issues.

Hi Ian,

May I know how did you send your passport pdf? I tried using the enquiry system to upload my file, but my scanned pdf is 21MB while the maximum size allowed is 2MB each or 3.5MB all together.

By the way, my status is still In Process even though I received passport request a week ago.

Thanks in advance.

Hi driftcars,

what passport you are holding for AP and when you start to apply spouse family application last year ? for the sake of simplicity, I registered mail with original passport instead of PDF to HKVO?

Hi Ian

Do you write down the name on the back of the 3 photos? Cause I cannot find this link as below for my further information:
"For submission of photographs of yourself and accompanying family members (if applicable), follow the instructions provided in the section How to Complete the Forms of the application guide and in Appendix A: Photo Specifications. The application guides may be found on the CIC website at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/index.asp. "

Did you print the Passport request email attached with your photos and mail to HKVO?

And what should i do when I paid the RPRF before I sent the full application to Mississauga?

Thanks a lot!

Hi LN9714,
I wrote down 2 pictures with PA names and date birth , and stamped with the vendor information at the back ( picture taking company) and 1 picture with blank. yes, of course, you need to print the PPR email along with 3 pictures , and put it into envelop together. cos the PPR email has the UCI number to identify the PA. for RPRF, I wrote down some short words to telling them that I paid it already in the full amount (C$1040). please also attach the bank draft copy of this amount as proof if available. that it is good to send to HKVO with PDF of passport. but, if you are in Canada, then you have to send the original passport to OTTAWA and may take longer time. However, I believe that HKVO may take 1 week or so to send the COPR if there is no other issues.

don't think you will need to send one as they are only asking one for where 1, you stay longer than 6 month, 2, since age of 18.

Cheers

hi Martinzx,

I born in China in 1985, then move to HK in 1999 (abt 14 years old), should I need to do Police Certificate in China ? do u know?

just got CIC mail :
> Police Certificate: From each country/state where the residence period has been six months or longer since the age of 18, provide an original police clearance certificate from Hong Kong. This must be received at this office by: 2015/09/10
> Police Certificate: From each country/state where the residence period has been six months or longer since the age of 18, provide an original notarial police clearance certificate from PRC. This must be received at this office by: 2015/09/10

I am 14 years old when i move to HK, then never live in China over 6 months, means I don't need to do police clearance certificate from PRC?

Thanks

LN9714,
I submitted pictures & passport documents to HKVO , not CIC (Canada). For your case, if your corresponding address in Canada. you need to send it to CIC (Ottawa). not sure that how long will give it back to you. For HKVO, it may take 1-2 weeks duration. either one can do tosumbit your document. My choice is mail office with double registered mail.

Jmo1968,
Thanks.. How is your progress now ? what status ? I think you may change to Decision Made for dec/jan if you are now in IP. FYI, if you change to DM, then 2 weeks to wait for PPR and then 1-2 weeks to get COPR. hope you can get the good news soon...

hi Jmo1968,
sorry. I didn't see you are in PPR status on 20 Aug. I think you may get the COPR at the end of Aug if there are no other issues.

Cross my finger that the status has been changed to IP for 2 weeks, I still not received any letters about requesting police cert. I already submitted the enquiries but need to wait any feedback. My lawyer asked me to wait the letter in order to get the police cert from HK police as I have no AOR2 that can't get the police cert straight. Ian, seems your case proceeded faster....I can't wait...
