Got my COPR today!!! Does anyone know if it risky to land one day before the expire day? Or what to do if my wife has to leave Canada before getting her PR card.
Congrats! Yes it is risky. What if the flight is cancelled or if your wife gets bumped off the flight and no seat is available next day? You want to go through the whole process again?

So I should apply for Travel Document if she has to leave Canada before getting her PR card. And does anyone know if they will return the original support documents, e.g photos, postcards

Congrulation!
If my understanding is correct, there is no interview in your case.
Kindly feedback.

Hi
Sorry to bother you with one more question. You got the COPR - confirmation of permanent residence is a landing paper correct. I am confused because you also mention a visa has been issued. Is it the same thing.

Thanks

It means the Visa Application Centre has forwarded the passport and application to the Canada Visa Office in Beijing where the visa will be put in the passport and the COPR will be provided. Ours took 2 weeks until we got another email from VAC saying it had received the passport and was forwarding it to my wife at her home address. So just wait and keep checking the website for any changes. :)
Thank u smooth sailing for your reply!
How much time did CIC give to your spouse before landing in Canada? Was it before the medical expiry date?

I am a Taiwan applicant, I submitted everything at the beginning, and I never got any PPR. I got the COPR through Air Mail 12 days after DM.

Hi guys,

Sorry to bother you, please advise what is the difference between COPR - confirmation of permanent resident (if my understanding is correct it is a landing paper can you can go to Canada) and the PPR.
It seems there is no interview with you, right! You got the COPR by Air Mail to Taiwan and no need to collect it in Hong Kong Visa office. Am I right?

Thanks

PPR = Passport request, if you hold a mainland passport you will get a email to submit your passport to get COPR which is landing paper.
For HK and Taiwan passport holders, in the recent cases Hong Kong visa office sends COPR directly to your mailing address, few cases still get the PPR letter, but the big differences is they can submit the copies of passport instead, the mainlanders have to submit the physical passports only.

Hi guys,

Thanks so much as I am applying my wife a HK resident. There is no need for PPR. Unlike Taiwan, HK cannot submit police check during the application. HK police station must obtain a letter from the consulate
Canada to do the police check. I would like to ask since you have no interview, is there any email to notify the DM beforeHong Kong visa office sends COPR directly to your mailing address. Does it show up in the
Ecas.

They didn't send me any DM emails, I check ECAS almost everyday so I know the date I got DM, but if you don't check it often you may just find you get a COPR letter in your mail box one day lol, btw they send regular mail....... The only email I got from HK visa office is the AOR2.

They don't send you email to notify you about DM nor they've send you COPR nor tracking number of the mail (because it's regular mail) at all.

When did you send in application? You ask a lot of questions if still 6 months to wait and wonder.
