Sponsoring parents will require you or your husband (or both of you) to meet LICO minimum income.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5196E10.asp

You must agree to sign an "Undertaking to Assist a Member of the Family Class" with the Government of Canada.
The signed document is a promise to provide for the essential needs of the sponsored family members, in some cases for 10 years after they land in Canada.
The purpose of this agreement is to ensure that the sponsored family members do not become dependent on financial assistance from the government.

Does he works for a canadian company and earning canadian-source income? If so, it might work.
