Just to be realistic We are now 1 year 3 months and 2 weeks in Havana. Interview was Jan 4,2016 New medical March 18 and 19 ,2016 so hopefully in another 4 weeks we will get a visa If that is the case It will be 16 months in Havana so close to the 17 months ?????????

My husband finished his medical today and is going to drop of the receipt to Immigration on Monday. Is it possible they will give him his visa ? Have u ever heard of that happening ?

I would think the medicals have to be received and clear before a visa would be issued.

So with that said we are looking at another 4-6 weeks

something similar, a girl I knew who had been waiting 2 ye3ars... she got her medical ad brought th ereciept but they wanted the results... so she paid them 60cuc to have it DHL'd same day - and she got her visa a few days later!

Does anyone know of a Toronto Immigration Lawyer in Toronto? Someone great!?!

Do you need a Lawyer or a consultant ?

Well I just an email from Havana telling me that our visa has been denied My husband had his medical on Friday Mar 18 and 19 and dropped the info off at Immigration on Monday. Their reasons for denial not a genuine marriage. It took them From Jan 4,2016 interview to March 22,2016 to come up with that reason.

I am really sorry to hear that news Galano! Its been a long battle. Did they give u anything other than that... Why did they make u get another medical. How is ur husband holding up? I know there is an appeal process. U can always try that!!

They said that when he was asked what my status was when we met he said I was divorced which is correct and they said I was a widow which I am not My ex husband is remarried and alive and kicking. Also he said my Father was alive and he died in Jan 2014. They said he was vague when answering ? I was divorced in 1991. My husband called this evening he is still in Havana I did not have the heart to tell him. I will speak to my MP tomorrow as the info on the email has some glaring errors on it. They said my Father lived in Charleston My Father died in Jan 2013 and lived all his life in Nova Scotia. I file an appeal but that could take several years. I am so upset that they made him get a new Police certificate and Medical and waited more than 2 months to tell us this.

What happens after the interview??

This morning my husband had an interview with the Canadian Embassy in Havana. He was told the interview was necessary due to our age difference - 15 years. He took in an updated Schedule A, more photos, emails, documents, etc showing proof our marriage is genuine. They did not ask for his passport but told him they would contact me as I am noted as his representative. Any idea now long of a wait?? We applied in January 2015; I was approved as his spousal sponsor May 2015 and the application has been "in progress" since then. I just want to bring him home.
Medical done, police check done.

Can anyone give me an idea of how long Havana can take? I have been in touch with my MP, who sadly passed away suddenly on Tuesday, we had hoped once they interview was set the next step would happen quickly.

The fact that he was asked to get a new police certificate and do the medical exam again... and then visa was denied... that is disgusting. It is absolutely incredible and difficult to see what the logic is behind the decision to ask someone to do the medical again before making a decision. You were saying that you will talk to your MP. Did you do that? Was a miscommunication or just plain lie about your ex-husband being dead?
