1 I was notified by snail mail that I was approved for AOR. I am the sponsor. Also received an email with case number and Client ID numbers one for sponsor and one for spouse.

2 Received an email with date and time of interview. Some people get a phone call from Havana to the spouse we did not.

3 If you added an email address they will most likely send it via email. However remember it is Cuba.

Thank you!

We got an email, our interview date is January 28th!!!! Yeeeeeaaahhhhhhh!!!!

Did they say in that email that they can be contacted in case that you cannot attend the interview? Do they provide any phone #?

Congrats...Best of luck to you both. Hopefully soon you'll be re-united and this will all be a distant memory.

Had you ordered your GCMS notes prior? Anything in there that seemed out of the ordinary?

I am wondering if I should order ours.

Cheers :)

Nope we never ordered notes. My MP kept me in the loop each month as to where they were at in the process.

They simply asked us to reply to the email to confirm attendance.

Oh ok. Did they ask you in the email to bring any additional documents? I heave heard of many being asked to bring additional proof of relationship not submitted in original application. Did they request for you both to be present or just your Cuban spouse?

:)

They told us to bring his passport, PRF payment receipt, and any additional proof that we have not yet submitted. They only requested my husband to be present, not me.

Following is a copy of the email we received with no reply option

Dear Sir/Madam,

For your application for permanent residence to be finalized, an in-person interview will be required.

Please be advised that an interview has been scheduled for you, as follows:

Date and time: December 10th, 2015 at 2pm.

Place: Canadian Embassy in Havana - Immigration Section. Calle 30 esq 7ma, Miramar, Havana, Cuba

You are required to bring the following documents to the interview:

- New schedule A: please note that question 8 must be completed since September 1979 up to present without gaps.

At the interview, you should submit recent evidence to prove that your spousal relationship with your sponsor is genuine and still ongoing. Such evidence may include:

i. Correspondence between you and your sponsor such as: letters with their original post-marked envelopes, printouts of e-mail messages, chat records, faxes, etc. (whatever has not been submitted yet).

ii. Telephone bills indicating calls between you and your sponsor (whichever has not been submitted yet). DO NOT submit phone cards, unless accompanied by an itemized statement from the phone-card company.

iii. Photographs of you and your sponsor together, (whichever has not been submitted yet). The photographs must be printed. DO NOT bring photographs in electronic devices such as CD's or USB memories.

iv. Evidence of financial support between you and your sponsor (whatever has not been submitted yet).

v. Any other evidence that you would like the immigration officer to consider and that might be useful to demonstrate the genuineness of your relationship with your sponsor.

The day of the interview, you should arrive at least 5 min in advance. At the Immigration gate, you will explain that he has an appointment for an interview. Please remember you must bring your passport and your dependent`s passports, if applied.

Please confirm your attendance by replying to this email.

Cordially,

Immigration Section

It says at the bottom of your letter to reply to the email.

Is anyone else using prepaid cards to send money to their spouse?

I was using enviodinero to send money, fonoma to top up the cell phone and Dimecuba To call and text ...all these sites would record all my transaction history including text msgs I would send via Dimecuba whereas my cell phone provider could not provide my texts. Then I printed out everything and explained everything on the back of the printouts

Hello!

I tried to read this thread, but I managed to go through only the first 59 pages. :) I apologize if I may be asking questions already asked by someone else.

1. After someone gets approved as a sponsor and the application is sent to Havana office, do the visa officers still send an AOR?
Is that AOR sent to the sponsor or to the sponsored person or to both?
2.Is this interview scheduled over the phone? Havana office communicates only to the sponsored person living in Havana or do they communicate to the sponsor too?
3.What would be your suggestion for a situation in which the sponsored person will be out of Cuba for two weeks, not reachable by phone? I am worried that exactly at that moment, the Havana office may try to call to schedule the interview...

Thank you and good luck with the interview!
Be careful about leaving Cuba. Someone recently got denied the visa because her spouse travelled to Ecuador and they were suspicious as to why she didn't go as well. Kinda dumb reason to deny someone if you ask me.... So maybe if your spouse does ever travel without you just explain in detail why he travelled and why you couldn't go with him/her at the time...or even better GO WITH THEM!

@V_Gonzalez
@Galano1213

Thank you very much for your answers... it is exactly what I was looking for.

@newgirl1: we go together to my niece's wedding, in another country.

Wondering for those who have recieved requests for new schedule A and/or proof of permanent residence fee payment, at what point in the process did they request it?

For us schedule A was requested on the email for the interview. Paid all fees with application.
