I must apologise for not giving an update on our status
Married Oct 2012, we have completed our applications, just waiting for our marriage cert.
Returning to Holguin in 4 weeks. Hopefully i will return home with that certificate.
When i come back i will have all required translations completed.
Then i will submit the entire package and fees paid.
Then wait

Whoo hoo! Keep us posted when it is submitted so we can update your spreadsheet!

Thank you so much sassielassie, Greeneyes and KJG for clarifying and for the warm welcome, you guys are amazing :) I will definitely give CIC customer service a call and will also have my lasts paystubs and a letter from my employer ready just in case. We are still waiting for the wedding certificate to be issued, meanwhile gathering all the documents and filling the forms. My husband and I are both from Havana, we dated 12 years ago for almost a year, but we were just a couple of inmature kids back then. To make the story short: just 3 months before my PR was granted in 2012 we found each other again. :D A year later we were happily married! Luckily for us the biggest obstacle was just removed, since professionals from the health care sector are now allowed to travel as the rest of the cubans (my hubby is a dentist) So, no more 5 year waiting for cuban doctors. Getting the visa from canada seems like a piece of cake compared to that, so I'm optimistic. I appreciate very much your guidance, best of luck to everyone.

Congrats on the recent wedding! All these changes in Cuba really are a blessing. We are all looking forward to more changes in the future!

I got home yesterday, Embassy wrote my Rep today and Hubby got the call. They told him he needs to be in Embassy Thursday, January 24 at 830 am and asked him if his daughter was travling with him. He said yes. They said to bring both passports and 2 photos for the Visa. (Gave him demensions). He asked if we needed pictures for Amara and they said no only him. He asked if they needed more documetns to prove the relationship and she replied "No they said you don't need more". You only need bring the passports and photos.

Here is what the embassy wrote to rep: Dear Sir/ Madam,

Reference is made to the permanent residence application received at this office. Please be advised that applicant has been convoked for Final Review of file and possible visa issuance on January 24, 2013 at 8:30 am. Passports for applicant and daughter are required.

Sincerely,

Just coming up for air!!! Hahaha.

Between hubby's arrival, crazy work hours, the holidays etc, I've been a bit absent from here, but did manage to squeeze in a great visit with KJG and her hubby, they are awesome!

Things are great, everything is still so new and amazing to him, and it's been beautiful experiencing everything for the first time with him.

I'll post more soon....

Just wanted to send much love, light and great vibes too all of you, I know there has been good and bad news on here, but we are here for one another, good and bad!!

Hi all, my husband called me today so happy! He had just received our Marriage Certificate and his police clearance.

I have a question, is the Option C printout the same as Notice of Assessment?

Not the same. What I did was phone revenue canada and when you get a 'live' person tell them you need an Option C printout for 2011 tax year for Immigration purposes. I would get it on right away as it takes a couple weeks to receive it.
