He did receive his baja (free to go papers?). I've told him to get the marriage certificate. Not sure how long it takes to get a new marriage certificate. Hubby is from Cardenas.

Fingers crossed you'll hear this week Shuster. Let's hope October works out to be a great month. KJG has approval; hopefully mine on October 25 and Shuster your interview waived. :)
Yessss! And im happy to be in the november batch...... lol

hmmm.. not sure, but you do end up paying 60$ a month while waiting so it could end up contributing... there are no costs for PVE medical? I find that strange because youre still leaving the country... I dont know much about it because ive been planning for PRE the whole time
well the PVE is $150....then when you get to Canada the application for the PRE is around $200 and then $64 per month while waiting and usually two to three months minimum....so they pretty much always get the $550 one way or the other....LOL....and I don't think it has to do anything with the Havana medical cause that is by Canadian approved drs......I think it is just the final gouge on the Cuban for leaving....I mean the government knows the spouse living abroad will be paying for it the majority of the time......

you pay 150 cuc for pve and then 150 cad for application for PRE and then 64 until you get. Most cases it is ready in 2 months from sources that i know that have been going through the PRE here. So lets do the math 150+150+64+64= 428 much cheaper than the 550 cuc and the conversion along with it. Plus some people do not have time to apply for a PRE (it could take months in some provnices) within Cuba. Medicals expires soon and they need to leave with the PVE.

You will know if an interview is waived. Havana must give the spouse a min of 2 weeks notice for interview. if they call and give you less than a 2 week notice that means just a visa pick up and no interview.

yep...again personal preference...for me a trip to Toronto is $100 with parking...so that pretty much takes care of that.and our dollar is practically on par with cuc right now..but I think the biggest concern is timing....obviously if you have one month than the pve is the way to go there really is no other option......but pre vs pve is something to be decided between husband and wife....and their comfort levels......

Yep! were all supporting shuster that she'll get that phonecall saying less than 2 weeks and therefore no interview! shes waited longer than the 3 months so far so its the only thing that makes sense! based on this thread it seems interviews are 3-5 wks after that phone call, so her and hubby should not have to wait that long from now!

Shuster....and am sending you some god vibes too sista. This week for sure!

So to make sure I understand....once you have submitted a medical you cannot just go on your own.....get another medical and submit it to Havana?
For example: my hubbys Med was done in may. We did not submit the app to cpc until October. Assuming my file will follow the same timelines as everyone else.....the Med will expire around the time an interview will be called(7 months later). I cannot send him now to get a new Med done to extend it?

Sassylassie, no you cannot send him for another medical. The officer is the one to decide. The officer might extend the current one if within the 15 month timeframe as per the new assessment or send him for another one altogether.
