In my opinion not any faster a lot depends on the proof of genuine relationship and of course the person dealing with the application.

I think the 5 month timeline hasn't been the case since like March...I think it's up to like 9 or 10 months now. Usually visa day is on a Wednesday yes, not sure what day they call though, I can't remember

Nine to ten months sounds right we will be at nine months on Thursday and no call yet. I think they processed some apps quick and now to keep the processing time at ten months they r just sitting on the apps until two weeks before the ten month deadline. Then they make the call to tell u what is next! I am getting excited we should be soon!!!

I think that it's important not to fall into the trap of using other people's timelines and expect yours to follow the same standard.

Saying it takes X amount of months after it reaches Havana is shortsighted, as the details of every application will impact processing time. Per example, mine arrived in Havana in late April, and my wife got the call in late July, with the visa coming first week of August, so 3 months and change in Havana.

A friend of mine from Toronto's application arrived in Havana beginning of April, and his wife got the call on the Wednesday before last, visa received last Wednesday, so 4 months and change in his case.

If you take the time and read though this forum meticulously, and do some basic math with the information available, you will see that these timelines fluctuate from 3 to 10 months once the file is in Havana, and it usually depends on many factors related to the applicants and their relationship (they were intimated to me by an acquaintance who works for Immigration Canada here in Montreal in detail, they have also been listed in this forum over time by various people).

So for those of you still waiting, don't drive yourself crazy comparing timelines too much, as someone once told me, it's not like waiting in line for the bathroom, there are more factors that play into it.. just try to be patient and encouraging with your significant other, your call will come..

P.S. someone asked as to what day the calls were made, my wife's came on a Thursday, but my friend's was on a Wednesday, so seems like it's not set in stone.. the one thing that seems set is that the visa appointments are always on Wednesdays.

the only thing that confuses me is that everything seems normal and i had no isssues with the paperwork and no family in US . NO PREVIOUS marriage no kids , and a two year relationship with proof and pictures etc..... i just dont understand whuy its taking so long
i guess we all have to keep our head up high and hope for that call to come soon!

As far as the time line goes there is really no reasonable explanation for it . We have been in a relationship for five years and will be married two years Sept 26th and we are just patiently waiting for the call for an interview. It really is no point in worry about anyone else's times it doesn't make any personal difference to our wait. This process is out of our hands once we sent the application. After 10 months we may have other options So we wait .

Hi everyone, I have a question for those that had an interview. Has it happened that the Canadian spouse was also interviewed separately? If so, does it take place in Canada?
Thanks

Internet finally happening in Cuba has been the best thing EVER!!! Me and my husband have been facetiming a lot now and also iMessage which makes communicating so much easier. He had to get. VPN set up for his iPhone but it's been working great for us. Much cheaper than phone calls as well!!! Take advantage of it for sure ... We have gotten an email from Mississauga saying they have received it on July 9th, and it says about 57 days for that so hopefully we get one answer soon. So happy for everyone finally getting the PR!! Good to see things are moving forward!!!

Alazi I understand that sometimes they call the spouse who is in Canada to ask questions when the spouse is at the interview in Havana or at least that is what they did to a friend of mine.

Thanks Galano, I think that's going to be my case, but the interview part stresses me a lot.
