I am at nine months and one week and still haven't heard from the embassy. Although my husband is going there today.
Oh yeah sorry, thought u meant 10 months in havana. Every city has a MP (member of parliament) and once your timeline hits 10 months in Havana then I would be contacting them to look into things for you at that point.madameR said:no the 10 months mean 10 month in havana i think??? am i wrong???and i dont have an MP .I USED AN IMMIGRATION LAWYER...
I have heard that MPs have gotten involved earlier. Galano. U sure ur hubby doesn't have family that works for the military in Cuba? This might be the hold up for u... Sometimes they don't wanna let people go when family works for the military- I've heard tons of stories... But they all got what they wanted in the end. So nonfear...Galano1213 said:10 months means 10 months in Havana We are at 8 months in Havana and 14 months since we sent the application.
Hi Galano, the age difference probably raised a flag, my wife is quite younger than I, this week will be 6 months since our file has been in la Habana, my MP called last week and was told that everything still been processed for eligibility and that the 10 months wait will be till January, it was generic information, they didn't provide anything specific about our file.Galano1213 said:My husband is an only child, his Mother and Father are both deceased. His daughter is a school teacher and her husband is a mechanic for the bus system. The only thing we thought of was that his Father ,whom he never met went to the USA and never returned to Cuba. My MP was told we would have an interview because they wanted us to prove our marriage was genuine. And because of that they put the application as not a priority. I guess being married for two years, thousands of dollars spent on travel to Cuba to be with my husband every few months, phone calls, money sent for his support proves nothing Several calls by MP's from both parties doesn't count. I find this system is biased because I am 12 years older than him and we certainly do not intend to have children. We knew each other five years before we married. I am a retired school teacher and he is a Chef and wants to continue working. I am so sick and tired of all of this I could scream. Our life together is being held hostage by a system that has no compassion for couples. I wonder if this is really Cuban officials or Canada's officials playing with numbers.
If we don't hear anything this month I will visit my wife again in October, I have submitted copy of my passport entry visas for all the trips I have done after our marriage as a proof of our relationship, they just acknowledged the fax I sent to them two weeks ago. I was hoping she was here before winter starts.Galano1213 said:Yes ,we knew that age might make a difference but my husband is 54 and I am 67 so we have talked about a lot of the major changes in both our lives as well as the fact if we were denied that I would move to Cuba and live there. If we don't get a date this month I will order notes to see if they provide more information. I am travelling to Cuba this month to celebrate our second wedding anniversary. If we have to wait the ten months it will be November, so I keep praying that winter is kind.
Hi Galano, how you request notes from Havana?luigui said:If we don't hear anything this month I will visit my wife again in October, I have submitted copy of my passport entry visas for all the trips I have done after our marriage as a proof of our relationship, they just acknowledged the fax I sent to them two weeks ago.
