Congratz KJG! This is awesome! And a pretty reasonable timeline I think, making the call to Yoani about 2 months after Havana would have received your application. Hopefully they will issue the visa same day as the interview and then shortly after that welcome to Canada Yoani ;D

yep...the timeline is pretty good...and it would be awesome if the visa was issued...but as long as they say yes I won't care if we have to wait a week or two for the visa!!!!!!

That's great. I wondered if both people can go to the interview or not? It seems they only request the applicant. Will it be separate or together??

just he gets interviewed...I sit out in the hall for moral support....there is a chance they may interview me....depends on the IO......and when or if they interview me I don't know if he is with me or not.....I guess I will find out!!

That's good that you can be there.

I want to go if my husband gets called for an interview... he would be so nervous. lol He gets nervous easily.

my husband does not get so nervous but he definintely prefers when I am around in new situations like that.......and frankly I would be so sick not being there that it is better for me to go!!!

The best thing is.. they will usually tell you at the end if you are approved or not right??? So you can celebrate together!

yep...exactly....and I so want to be there for that.....someone suggested I order my gmsc notes.....do you think I should....pretty standard for an interview in Cuba

Honestly, I think it's worth it. You can go in to it prepared for any concerns they may have noted. And it's inexpensive. I would!

yes....Canadiangirl78 just said she posted the link in the mexico thread today so I am heading off over there to get it....might as well order tonite then should be here before I leave.....

Yeah, I think they would be interesting regardless. I will order mine even if we don't get called for an interview. Don't you want to know what they have been doing with your file the past few months?? It's the only way you will get an answer! lol

yeah but apparently Yoani needs to sign a form as well......and since he is in Cuba it will be very hard to get it to him via fax......and back to me within the next couple of days...but I will see what I can do........too bad my best friend just came back last Thursday and she seen him for a couple of days.....

yes, she can fill it out, scan it to him, he prints-signs it-scans it back to her and she can print it off to send...

sorry ladies but the average cuban only has access to restricted computers that allow them to email.....they cannot receive a .pdf and print off....1) their computers don't allow it and 2) no printers.....so I will have to see what alternatives I can come up with....in the next two days!!!!

Wow.. No printers??!! No matter how much I think I grasp life in Cuba.. you make me realize I have NO IDEA!! lol
