Hello to everyone

I would like to have information of how it works to the airport, taxes and fees in Cuba, here is my topic. My husband is about to fly from his country ( El Salvador ) to Cuba and form there fly again to Montreal...so my question is : how does it work for tourist ? is there taxes to pay when coming and leaving a cuban airport ?

Also we want to know if life is expensive ? my husband will need to take a taxi from Havana to Varadero to catch his flight...how much would cost the ride ?

Also is there anyone who can an hotel in Havana...something affordable

thanks for your tips ! :)

Hi

You will need 25 convertible Cuban pesos at the Cuban airport it is called an exit fee and the exchange can be done at a bank at the airport. Not sure about a cab from Havana to Airport but I think Jose Marti airport in Havana. A ride to Varadero will cost you in the area of 80 to 100 CUC (Cuban Convertible Peso).there is a bus service called Vizsul it would be cheaper and sometimes the Hotel will have a transfer for around 10 cuc Convertible pesos ( currency only available in Cuba) There are lots of economicial hostels and hotels on Havana cost 45-100 convertible pesos. Resturant food is reasonable around 6 cuc for breakfast and 10-12 cuc for lunch and dinner if you stay in an all inclusive Hotel these are included in the price. A 3* hotel is about 41 cuc a night. Check the internet for information www.cubajunky is a great resource. Hope this helps.

Muchas gracias senora !

it does help a lot ! we were having this question since it is very difficult to call to Cuba and have information for topics like this..so thanks again

Also I would like to know this: how long does it takes to make the travel between Havana airport and Varadero airport ??? are we talking about 3 to 4 hours or more ?

I need to know this because the flight we attend to purchase is departing at 7h30 pm...soooo we have to make sure that we have enough of time...do you know if there is lots of traffic ?

thank you ! I cannot wait to go pick him up.. :)

Hi

140 km (85 miles) from Havana to Varadero and it is 30 min or so from those resorts to the actual airport and you need to be at the airport 3 hrs before flight time. I would say at least 1-2 hrs from Havana and another 1/2 hour to airport I would allow a good 3 hours as there maybe Police checks along the way. Not alot of traffic after you are out of the city. Beautiful scenery !!!!!!!

Good morning to all

I would like to ask this to any citizen of Cuba knowing customs of this country

My husband is a citizen of El Salvador, we are planning for him to stay in Cuba for 24 hrs or less..is he going to have problems for landing there and travelling from Havana to Varadero ?

One of my collegue was telling me that maybe we should not go to Cuba because he is not Cubain...can anyone can assure me ?

I just want to make sure that it is not prohibit for a salvadoran citizen to go to Cuba as a tourist

thank you

Hi

Thank you I will let you know as soon as I get info from my application after I send it

Hi guys!

Can you tell me if the Havana embassy sends a notice of receipt of application too? Will my Cuban husband get a call, email, or letter in the mail to go to embassy for his visa? How much notice do they give for this? Can they go right away to pick it up? Thanks for your help!

panlea...great idea to start a spreadsheet for Havana only! I keep looking at the other months in 2013 and I only found you! There must be more of us! :)

Let me know if there is anything I could do to help!
