So, my husband called the # you provided me with and the lady said the fee for the medical is $405.00
I remember a few years back there was no charge for the medical for the embassy.

However, when the cuban had to get the PRE they needed to pay for a cuban medical. (fake medical)

So, I'm just wondering now.
Do we have to pay for the Canadian medical and then again for the cuban medical, or did they abolish the cuban medical?

Also, is the medical only available in Havana or is it now available in other provinces?

Anyone know about this?

I myself never paid for the medical and my representative said if they don't ask for the funds for it then don't worry about it. I have heard that it Does not cost anything but I have also heard that it costs $300 to $400. As far as I know you can only get the medical done in Havana and you have to make an appointment. I myself probably would not wait for them to ask for the medical I would just go and get it done and submit it. The more you can get done and pay for in advance the better it will be for the outcome and the time frame for your application. Like they say sooner the better.

My wife got her medical done and received on December 20 and I believe that the appointment was set one week in advance. They did not ask her for the funds for it nor have they ask for it yet but that does not mean they will not ask for it when it comes time for her to receive her visa.

My wife went in February and they didn't ask any money also.

I asked her to go to immigration and ask for PRE as it costed 400CUC before and they dont need the PRE anymore since the new law in January 2013. Since they were making 400CUC with the PRE before
and cubans dont need PRE anymore, maybe they ask for the 400CUC with the medical now ?

No need for PRE and Carta Blanca anymore, cubans are free to travel as soon as they have a valid visa !

Sometimes its hard to have a straight answer, I remember asking questions and getting opposite answers from different people.

Dont give up, you'll get there...its a long and hard road sometimes, but we've been there before you and you'll get there also !

I said no need for PRE, as long as the Cuban returns to his country at least 1 time every 2 years.

Just to make sure I dont confuse people here...if they come here and return in 5 years, they'll lose their Cuban rights.

The only valid hospital was in Havana as of early March 2013.

I will be thinking about applying soon. We are getting married in December in Cuba....going to attempt a TRV to see if he can come here for November. I have my flight booked in December and have sent that with the letter of invitation, so crossing my fingers he will be approved to come here to 'meet my family before we get married'.

Actually, we changed the plans a little. We didn't want to 'waste' the visitor visa in November, so he will be applying next week, to come in December. I will post in a few weeks once we hear!
