By the way an other question.... Do you know if we still need to have the "PRE" after the visa ?
Some people said no and other said yes... The price was 400 CUC before foe the "PRE"

I know we don't need the "carta blanca" anymore but what about the "PRE" ?

Also, my wife used to work in an hotel, does she need the "BAJA" to get the "PRE" if needed ?

So much conflicting answers it's hard to know what we really have to do...

Thank if you can help me on this

they dont need the carta blanca anymore and about the pre i dont think they need it just tell your wife to ask about it in cuba , Im cuban also and when i was there now in october till february my passport expired and i had it done there, i had the pre and when they renew my passport they didnt put my pre on it because they say they dont do that in cuba anymore, after janaury 14 and the laws changed if you want the pre you gotta ask for it on the consulate in the country where you are going to live, so when i arrived here after my trip i just sended my passport to the consulate in toronto and they putted in my new passport but i have a different name now "Habilitacion" so yeah and its funny cause my husbands works in a hotel too lol as a lifeguard and yes she needs the baja before comming i think i just told my husband to ask for all that in cuba lol

Hi there, I'm going to be a 2013 applicant as well, however not til the end of the year as we get married in October if all goes as planned. Right now I am a little overwhelmed with simply everything that has to be done just for us to get married. Not to mention the costs involved in notarizing and translating all the documents. It is going to cost me even more because I was divorced twice :( If you have any suggestions on where to get this done for a little as possible it would be greatly appreciated because I can use all the help I can get at this point ???

Hola!! Sorry for the late reply, I know it is frustrating and expensive and its get even more difficult when you filled the application and you are just on the waiting game but dont worry everything should be fine. This one was my 1st marriage so i didnt really have to translate any divorced or anything and neither my husband , i lonly translate our married certificate, birth certificate for him and his daughter even thoe she is not comming but i needed to get that done ,police check for him as far i remember thats all i translated.I had it done on the multicultural center here where i live with a social worker, and all was 150 CAD

keep us Update,

Hi, it's nice to read, share and get information about other people's journey similar to mine. I filed for my husband on March 5, 2013 and received an email on April 3, 2013 stating that my application to sponsor was approved and being sent to Havana. Now I am just waiting for any words from them.

I came on this chat to look for an answer to the baja letter, and it seems that the baja letter is not needed anymore.

Best of luck to all waiting and I'll be updating y'all.

:)

hey how are you? did you received the AOR from havana yet? and about the baja letter they dont need it anymore regardless to apply for PRE or exit visit because they dont need that anymore but once they got to the airport they check on the system and see all that so i recommend getting the baja letter i told my husband to get his military service papers, his baja letter from from and his baja from the OFICODA which is means getting is name out of the foodbook where they give him like the monthly rice and beans and stuff and also one letter from thee bank stating he doesnt owned any money from goverment, because those are the things they are cheking in airports now before you leave
