I'm from a visa-exempt country, married to a Canadian, with a spousal PR application in appeal. I have been in Canada with my husband now for almost two years with an initial one-year Visitor Record, which I successfully extended last year for another year. Now it's time to extend again and we're afraid, since our PR application was refused, that the extension might also be refused.
I'm wondering whether anyone here has ever had a Visitor Record extension denied? What happens? Were you given a date that you had to leave Canada by? Were you required to submit yourself to CBSA upon exit? We really don't want to back ourselves into a corner here. Our PR refusal was a CIC screw-up and being separated is not something we will accept as a result. We'd appreciate any advice/experience anybody can provide. Thanks.
