Now the Processing time on ircc web site is 22 months but that is just Estimation.

It’s depends how complex is the case. Some cases need reviews and more reviews for different offices. You can request GCMS notes for see what’s happening on your case.
Anecdotally we are seeing many more take over 2 years to process and they aren’t overly complicated so unless we see some reforms think people need to prepare for over 2 years. There are certainly some exceptions and hopefully IRCC will at least start denying applications more quickly to lower the amount of people in the pool.
Think 12 months seems pretty uncommon for AIP these days. If processing starts at 12 months you are lucky these days.
Today, I see an increase in the number of applications. People who do not qualify and do not have the factors to apply. Before, there were 10 thousand, today there are 50 thousand applications. Those who have a strong case are at a disadvantage because of this. They have to wait in line. There will certainly be many denials. If there is no reform in the screening process, the waiting time will be very long.
strong and simple cases. but for complex cases, which are the majority today. I think it is in 16 to 20 months. it all depends on how strong the case is.

I saw some people submitted their applications in feb 2023 and still waiting.
In this case the longer processing time is not only for H&C also other applications.

Even some economic programs are experiencing longer processing times. The volume of people, capacity to process and quotas don’t add up.
That is true beacuase when everybody gets negatve form other programs he or she will aply H&C as it is a last attempt to stay in Canada.
The volume of applicants was already very high but will likely only get higher which is why reform should have happened already
Anyone after 21 months or during the process of the H&C and out of status received Interim Work Authorization
I literally want to MCI make an announcement on Humanitarian program for reform on this class suspend until further notice but I’m not sure will happen or not !
