Canada had become very generous with their H&C applications and even allowed multiple H&C attempts without removal this will likely change out of necessity and to actually target those with exceptional cases. If IRCC doesn’t get tougher with H&C requirements backlog will be even longer. Currently there are 50k applications for normal H&C not counting other pathways for H&C like Sudan, Ukraine, etc programs and approval quota for all H&C programs next year is 10k applications.I disagree in part. What is happening is that the system is overloaded, both with asylum applications. People do not qualify for humanitarian and compassionate status and still apply. Right now there has been a huge increase in applications. They cannot deny a well-founded case, for example, because if not, the person will appeal to the court, and the officer will have to explain himself. Those who have good reasons, children and a long time in Canada and difficulties returning to their country of origin have a better chance. People want to apply at any cost with less than a year in Canada.
IRCC likely reached their quota for 2024 so you will likely hear something in early 2025.Happy new year to everyone, I'm going crazy with all this waiting time, I've sent the requested documents on August 2 for second stage and after that...no update. Nothing. 5 months has passed.
I was less anxious before the AIP, anyone else feeling the same?
It is pretty pointless at this point when the more likely answer was IRCC has reached their quota so there is a pool of applicants waiting for approval in 2025 just like other programs.Did you request ATIP notes

How has he been in Canada since he was 19 for 7 years? How long have his parents been visiting Canada and when are they planning on returning home? Why can’t his parents return home with him since they are only visiting Canada? Why can’t a single young man not live independently?I have a question for my friend’s H&C application. He is been here in Canada for almost 7 years and his whole family here. His brother holds citizenship, sister and brother-in-law are permanent residents, parents on supervisa and another sister in UK. He has no family member staying in his home country and he came to Canada at an age of 19. How much chances for approval of his application?
There is no point calling every week. If background check is not completed it is not even in their control. No, not yet...

They are a recent visitor so tough to say. Partially dependent on your brothers disability, your mother’s health/ange and why living in her home country is not possible, whether you have family in your home country, etc.Hello, My brother is physically disabled and completely dependent on my mother, my father passed away last year and now my brother and my mother both are here in Canada, mother on supervise and brother on visitor visa. Can I apply under H&C for my brother and mother both? Please advise and if yes on what grounds?
The best option would have been for her to remain in her home country and waiting until you qualified for a supervisa. The fact that you are relatively new immigrants would mean that you knew your mother didn’t qualify for sponsorship yet still immigrated. Tough to see how IRCC is going to deal with all these parents applying for H&C when there is a process for sponsorship parents & gparent a which is well publicized and not guaranteed.Yes, we are in Quebec as we got PR through provincial nominations. If I apply for my mother on H&C ground, do I have to apply for her visitor visa extension too? Also as the processing time is long in Quebec, can she stay the full time with us?
Thank you so much for your kind help @scylla .
Not due date if processing hasn’t started and also should be taken with a grain of salt.Gcms notes. Someone see any DUE DATE on medical or security. I found on my notes. Triage is straight
Highly unlikely I’m afraid. My application will be 6 months this month , still no update apart from background check in progress. Any hope of getting AIP within 6-7 months?
I understand, but the way I see...when you call them you talk to a third party/person that has access to your file, working on a desk just answering calls and informing people...when I call is the get the last update as possible. There is no point calling every week. If background check is not completed it is not even in their control.
Did you submit your appication online or mail paper to their office?? I read some old comments about paper application is better but I am not sure how?Hi guys Happy New Year.
