Hi everyone,

Today, I visited our MP's office, and they kindly contacted IRCC on my behalf. Later, I received an email from them saying, “I was able to speak with the IRCC, and they informed me that your H&C application is non-routine, meaning additional checks are required, so the normal processing times don’t apply.”

I've done some online research on what this might mean, but I’m reaching out here to see if anyone with a similar experience might have additional insights or advice.
It is 24 months of the application received by them.

Do you have any dependents in your application? What are grounds of your application?
Does it say triage discrimination in your ATIP notes?

I found this info online check it out:

Hello,

I would suggest that this is the intersection of Departmental jargon, and an unfamiliar immigration stream. There is no such thing as a routine H&C application because they have to be based upon undue, unusual or disproportionate hardship to be successful.

Without reasonable evidence of actual or likely hardship, there isn't a viable H&C because the very foundation of the policy is missing. There is no routine H&C.

Without a removal order an H&C will usually, most commonly - I'd gives odds - take two or three years to get in front of the only person who matters, the decision-maker.

Triage = clerks make a file and enter data
Discrimination = a loose description of why you say you have to stay in Canada.

Probably thousands of file identified this way.
In my oponion
The word "triage" comes from the French word trier, which means "to sort" or "organize"
So
Triage discrimination means that the file or the application is based on as discrimination.
They put the file categories in their system.

Thanks for articulating what I thought was successfully implied.

I haven't applied for ATIP. That's just what MP office told me.
